Due September 2009

Hi Oryx

Congratulations and welcome to HK.
Goodbye Kitty is correct about needing to make a decision about public or private. I have chosen to go private and had my hospital booking confirmed at 9 weeks to the day. I believe that it can be tricky to get a hospital if you leave it much past 9 weeks. You can of course pay your own way privately if your insurance doesn't cover everything, but it is very pricey.

A lot of ladies here sort of do half and half, they see a private OB for extra visits and scans and for the comfort of seeing the same doctor all the way through. They then deliver in a public hospital (with a hospital OB, not the one they have been seeing privately). Or of course you can go public all the way.
There are plenty of discussions on this site about OBs hospitals and the pros and cons of going public/private, so maybe have a search and that might help you with your decision.

Take care :flower:

Hi Everyone!

We have visitors at the moment and my job has been pretty hectic, hence the lack of posting.

Hope everyone is OK. I booked in at Tsan Yak on Saturday, it was fine.

w/c 02 March should mean everyone is past their 12 weeks - so maybe lunch or dinner? Hopefully symptoms will have subsided for most :-). I'll do a poll thing later for RSVP's.

I have a scan on 2nd March which is 12 weeks to the day for me. It cannot come soon enough!

I can make dinner but not lunch (due to work). How does it work for everyone else?

Hi

12 Mar sounds good to me, I will be 12 weeks in a week and a half and I am happy that the nausea is starting to subside!
Yay!

Hope everyone else is feeling ok

Hi Oryx,

welcome to HK and to this forum!

I would be happy to meet you. I will send you a private message with my cell phone number.

I am 10 weeks along by the end of this week. I had my first gyn's appointment last Friday. If you go to a private gyn, they do scans every time you go to see them, which should be every 4 weeks in the first months of the pregnancy.

I suggest you think about the "going private or public issue" soon. My doctor booked me into a hospital but said we are lucky if we get a space, as that particular hospital is already pretty booked out for September.

If you have any questions, just let me know. Strange, just 2 weeks ago I felt like I know nothing about all that pregnancy stuff and how to do it in HK. But with the help of this forum and some research I got to know more pretty fast.

Hi Everyone! I just found this thread and I'm so delighted to find so many expecting mommies that are due in Sept. I am due on Sept 1, and this is my 2nd baby. I hope everything goes well for everyone. For myself, the morning sickness has been so bad over the past couple months. I actually find it worse than my 1st pregnancy. I basically had no appetite to eat but my tummy is constantly rumbling. I work full time so it's been so hard for me. Fortunately the sickness is starting to subside and I'm eating better now.

I'm having my OSCAR scan this coming Friday. I'm so excited coz for my last pregnancy, I found out baby was a boy at the OSCAR scan. That means I may be able to find out baby's gender pretty soon this time :)

Take care everyone!

Dinner on the 12th?

Would love to meet up with everyone. I just passed my 12 week mark and had my NT scan yesterday - everything good and fine but having a lot of cramping. It's lasted for the past two days and doesn't go away with Panadol. Am going back into Dr. Doo today. It's quite uncomfortable. My EDD is Aug 29th (but booked into Matilda for Sept 1st).

Hi Everyone,

I also have my 12 week scan on Monday 2 March goodbye kitty - can't wait!

I am 10.5 weeks now and have had way less nausea the last 2 days which has been a rather nice change. Still eating everything in sight and constantly tired but fingers crossed I have turned the corner. Now of course I have said that I'll probably suffer big time tomorrow ... oh the joys!

Look forward to catching up soon - lunches and dinners are both fine for me.

xx

Hi Little Lamb

10.5 weeks must be the turning corner! I am 10.5 weeks too and for the last 2 days have also been feeling remarkably better and I was just thinking today, that if someone asked me how I was feeling and I said good, I wouldn't actually be lying!

Same as you I am still really tired and some days find myself napping, but at least this week I have moved on past the toast and am back on mostly normal food. I was starting to get worried as I've lost 4kgs since week 5 and I am only little to start with, so fingers crossed I am on the road to feeling better!
Hope your nausea stays away for good!
Take care
xx

Cindyb I sent you a pm,did you get it?

Looking forward to meeting you all soon xx

Nice meeting you all too! It's good to know that all of the wack things happening with my body are very normal. I'm almost at 13 weeks and most symptoms (except feeling tired and tender breasts) have seemed to wane, although even those two symptoms are feeling less and less and I'm feeling more like me again.

newbie

Hi all,
My first time on this forum and I?m so glad I found it!

I live in Causeway Bay, been in HK for 2.5yrs, 29 from the UK.

I am 11 weeks pregnant, had my NT scan and blood test Friday just gone so its such a relief to start telling friends and family our news :o)

Amy ? I am a member of Pure Yoga, CWB has your Hatha instructor advised when to stop regular yoga as I heard its bad to lie on your back for too long due to restriction of blood flow? I am going to my first pre-natal yoga class tonight.

I am hoping I am over the worst of my nausea, the last 2 days I?ve felt half normal again. I am constantly hungry but never really know what I fancy!

Please let me know if you girls are meeting up soon as would love to hear about everyone?s experiences and to share tips etc..

Roz x

Hi Roz,

Pure said to me to stop Hatha, Power 1 etc immediately and only do pre-natal. During the pregnancy you can use any studio, even if your membership is normally only for one.

I am doing 12.45 in Central tomorrow if you fancy joining. Just PM me if you ever fancy a yoga partner. There's another poll in the July - September forum, so please feel free to join us for lunch. Are you working at the moment?

...thanks will stop all of the regular classes then.
I work full time in CWB. Classes in Central during the week will be difficult to make, evening ones i could manage i think.
Will join your lunch dae - thanks for invite

Hi Roz and Amy,

I'm a member of Pure Yoga and just yesterday was also told about being able to use my membership at any studio during pregnancy (mine is at Central). Do they have evening prenatal classes in CWB? Since I'm working during the days on the Kowloon side and the TST prenatal classes start at 2:30, and really difficult to get the Central classes at 12:45, these might be best for me. Let me know!

Hi Girls,

I am not sure if I am just over tired or going loopy but I cannot find the post for the lunch on this Monday (2 March 09)... weird! Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know that unfortunately I cannot make it but last time I looked Monday seemed to be the best day for everyone and Mondays are usually great for me too so hopefully now most of us are heading into the second trimester we will be able to make it a more regular event and I will be sure to come along to the next one.

xx
