Hi Oryx
Congratulations and welcome to HK.
Goodbye Kitty is correct about needing to make a decision about public or private. I have chosen to go private and had my hospital booking confirmed at 9 weeks to the day. I believe that it can be tricky to get a hospital if you leave it much past 9 weeks. You can of course pay your own way privately if your insurance doesn't cover everything, but it is very pricey.
A lot of ladies here sort of do half and half, they see a private OB for extra visits and scans and for the comfort of seeing the same doctor all the way through. They then deliver in a public hospital (with a hospital OB, not the one they have been seeing privately). Or of course you can go public all the way.
There are plenty of discussions on this site about OBs hospitals and the pros and cons of going public/private, so maybe have a search and that might help you with your decision.
Take care
