Due Oct-Dec 08??

Hi ladies,,

If you do Soho I can come and sneak out of work but if Causeway bay is easiergo there and I can always meet you all another day.

Another question for you all, I am at Tsun Yak and they hav booked my first scan for 18 weeks AA! Too far away I am desperate to know everything is ok...do any of you know if I can book a private one and if so where and with who? I do not really want to register at another doctors?

I'm fine with Soho. What about everyone else??

I'm sure you can go to any private doctor for scans - one of my friends had a baby last year and wasn't happy with ANY of the doctors - so she kept doing one appointment at one place, then the next one somewhere else... then to give birth, she went back to the US and gave birth over there!!

I've thought the same - since I've decided to register at Tsan Yuk - that I will go there, but still have at least SOME private check ups in the mean time... I WAS going to go with private check ups the whole time but I don't want to go back to Dr Ho, so I have to find someone else...

My medical insurance gives me something like $30,000 for maternity - not NEAR enough to go to a private hospital - but enough to get a bunch of good private scans done!! So I might as well make the most of it, since I'm not going to a private hospital!!

I'm gonna start a new thread for the lunch on the 14th because this thread is SO FULL - go to this thread: http://www.geobaby.com/forum/lunch-14th-april-t123532.html?p=868241#post868241 to discuss!!

Hi Kharel,

Yes, you can go to ANY private ob/gyn and they will do scans for you. Tsan Yuk don't have a problem with it (they simply asked me if I was seeing any other doctor at my second appointment and I said yes. No questions asked). I think a lot of people go with the public system but still go private for ante-natal check-ups, it's quite common.

You should GO! It's SO nice seeing your baby move on the screen! Makes it all seem real, really real!!! :P I can't wait til my next appointment. Still gotta wait another 2 weeks for it - cos my MIL is coming over then and we're scheduling it so she can come with us.

hi hi, my MIL is coming on may and we schedule all the appaointments before and after. so she can not come with us. she is a really nice woman but too overcaring :-)
i also have to wait another 2 weeks till my next scan, always so exciting to see how big the baby already is.

Is there any particular reason why you're drinking it? If you list out the ingredients, I MIGHT be able to help. But best bet is to ask your doc, I guess?

My MIL is coming tomorrow and I've been trying to plan it so that she WON'T come with me to my appointments!! lol I don't have my next appointment booked yet - I've been trying to figure out when to go to Tsan Yuk, or whether to just stay 100% private for now... *shrugs*

I don't see any reason why Pokari Sweat WOULDN'T be safe during pregnancy - but I'm not a doctor... so, ask him!! ;)

Has everyone noticed the new thread nicolejoy has started for lunch on 14th? Looking forward to meeting everyone

Pocari is totally safe - it is only electrolytes which is perfect for us mummies who will be sweating more at the moment...I have fainted a few times and now carry one with me - doc said it was ok!!
I have booked my 12 week scan for Monday I am so excited I can not wait to see my little one!! Told work yesterday and they were just brilliant - I feel smug pregnanat and so excited this week !!

Speak soon everyone...

Where did you book, Kharel? I've heard about the "Hong Kong Prenatal Diagnostic Clinic" or something like that which is meant to be good for scans... I'm thinking of maybe going there...

Hi everyone,
I haven't written to you for ages!
I found out I was pregnant at 10 weeks, I am now 13 weeks pregnant.
Since my last post, I had my 2nd scan with my private OB (down's, everything was fine, low risk, I am only 25 yo), registered with Tsan yuk/QMH, had 2 check ups with them (indeed, nothing much apart from taking my blood and filling forms on the computer, listening to the heart beat (which I did with my private OB anyway).
I no longer need to go to my private OB apparently; my next appointment is at another clinic in 6 weeks (I have to admit I have no idea why it's not at tsan yuk), and I already have the appointment for the 22 weeks diagnostic at QMH.

I am not as sick as I was 5 weeks ago but I have to select food very carefully if I don't want to be sick. Basically, the only things I can eat are potatoes (no rice, no pasta), meat with no sauce at all, and veggies (only ratatouille) and fruit.

I am not showing yet, I look bloated, and my boobs are not even bigger! lol

unfortunately, I won't be able to join you for lunch, as I am a teacher and lunch is at a fixed time everyday.
:-(
next time....

aw - where do you teach, and what time is your lunch? Maybe next time we can go near your school instead, if you want!

My bras are overflowing lol - probably in a couple of weeks, I'll need to get some new ones. ugh - I've never been bra shopping in Hong Kong before!! I think they size differently to Australia... do they do the US sizing?? I have NO IDEA!!

I'm still doctorless - I need to think about making an appointment SOMEWHERE soon... maybe I'll register at Tsan Yuk this week, I dunno... *shrugs*

Hi Nicolejoy

For bras have a look at www.bralicious.com.hk, they seem to have some really pretty maternity bras (Hope it's ok to suggest them on this website..?). Otherwise I think I'm just going to order from the Aussie websites I used in Sydney.

I've already had to go up a cup size and wearing non-wired bra...so much comfier. I dread to think what will happen when it comes to breast feeding as I gather they get bigger again!!

I have the benefit of never really having anything that you would really call "voluptuous" - so now I'm "nice looking" hehe - I wouldn't mind going up another size or so too... as long as I don't shrink again after it's all over!!

Hi Smiles

(Sorry sneeking a peek at your due date forum) I like some of the bra's in Bralicious, but I dont know how to size them - I am used to British sizes, inch measurement. COuld you help as I have been looking for nice bras everywhere!!

Thanks

Shoni

Kowloon

I can't do lunch either (teacher). Would anyone be interested in getting together in Kowloon on a weekend, or weeknight? And by weeknight I mean no later then 530pm to 630 pm so we can all go home and sleep sufficiently.

I live in Jordan near the cricket club and would love to meet other mom to be's in the neighborhood. I don't mind coming to central either but it would have to be a weeknight.

Cheers (with glasses of milk of course)

Hi Shoni

To work out Aussie sizes into UK, generally the cup sizes are the same (I think once you get past a G cup they start to differ slightly). For back sizes a 10C is a 32C, 12C is a 34C etc. I'm sure if you order and it doesn't fit properly you could exchange...

Hope that helps, I'm always on a hunt for nice underwear! (are you looking for maternity bras? that's my lastest mission!)

Smiles

hi everyone,

marks and spencers has simple bras is big sizes, i had to buy one size bigger already (my husband loves it, hi hi)
as for dinner on a weeknight, i am totally in (am a teacher too). but central would be more convenient.
