Due Oct-Dec 08??

Hi Nicolejoy
Thanks for asking, I work in Happy Valley. The only day that would work is Friday though, as I don't work in the afternoon.

I tried to go br

oops! I tried to go bra shopping before, and I could never find D-cups. I guess I might have to look on the internet to find something if they get bigger eventually!

Hi everyone

So I had my 12 week scan yesterday and it was amazing, baby had hicups and was bouncing around - my husband and I were very emotional.
I am feeling a bit better and less sick which is good although still a bit tired - however I am in bed most nights by 9.30 which helps - how sad is that!!

SO looking forward to meeting you all soon = I need a day of indulgent talk about babies and nothing else!!

I booked another appt for next week, Wednesday. I'll be 13 weeks then - into the SECOND trimester! Fun fun!! Looking forward to seeing baby again...

I'm still tired - I'm going to bed at midnight, but after hubby goes to work, I sleep most mornings (when I CAN) until 10:30!!! I feel like such a lazy bum...

I went looking at cots today, just to get an idea. I don't like the ones at Eugene Club Centre, but I quite like the ones at Bumps to Babes and at Mothercare. Ikeas ones seem to be such low quality!! Does anyone have any other ideas where to get them from??

There's quite a large number of baby shops in Lee Gardens and Ocean Terminal. Like single brand shops, rather than general shops, if that makes sense? We quite like the ones in Chicco cos they do the whole one-handed lower thing.

Kharel - that's great about the scan! Doesn't it just make it all seem so real!?!

Nicole - well done for getting your butt in gear! :p Which doc have you gone for? I take it it's not the appointment at Tsan Yuk though? ;)

hi there!!!!!!

i am in my 7th week ,last few days iam having discharge sometimes it is yellow sometimes dirty yellow.......is it normal?
i have my next appointment on 30th april.

I'm going to Dr Lam at the Hong Kong Prenatal Diagnostic Clinic, something like that anyway... they do 4D ultrasounds there and while this time, I probably won't get one, it would be cool to get one in a couple of weeks/months (is 20 weeks a good time? I have no idea!!) - so I thought I'd check him out anyway...

I might register at Tsan Yuk in a couple of wks - I had to stay at home today because I've got some stuff being couriered... MIL is in China so I'm having a lazy day, bumming around the house ;) I work Saturdays, so I HAVE to register on a Wednesday. Next week is out because of my other appt - but maybe in 2 weeks. We'll see ;)

I think that's normal, even "browny" is normal... From what I've read, you need to call a doctor if it is "red" or if you're cramping as well. But if in doubt, you can always call anyway. The doctor will generally let you come in and look at your baby again so you can see the heart beating away and know that everything's ok. At these stages there's a lot of moving around and attaching and stuff happening in there that it's normal to have a bit of minor cramping and a bit of discharge...

Well I'm finally back in the world of the living!!!!

Still have a cough I can't shake but am feeling so much better. Even the morning sickness seems to be better so fingers crossed it continues.

Sorry I didn't make it on Monday sounds like you all had a good time. Hopefully I can meet you all at the next lunch/dinner.

Will be going for my 12 weeks check up and OSCAR next week. Hope that everything is fine! Am quite excited to see baby again, last time, he/she was only 2.4cm, I wonder how much he/she has grown.

Am also trying to plan a holiday in before I get too big. Had to cancel my last holiday (during my last pregnancy) due to complications, so hopefully, this time I get to go. Am SOOOOOOO in need of a holiday!

nicolejoy,
I bought my cot from Mothercare and it's really great! It's sturdy and has wheels so I can push it whereever I want. I also chose one which can have one side folded totally under the bed, I used this function when my baby was still not so mobile and she would sleep in her cot right next to my bed, it's best also for breastfeeding at night as you only need to reach out your hand to pull the baby close by.

I didn't like the ones at Eugene either, too flimsy and the ones at B2B were too expensive. The other place you might like to have a look in is 0/3 in Harbour City, the cots are not bad either.

Forgot to mention this also. For those of you looking for bras, NEVER buy ones with underwires as they become very uncomfortable. I bought those to begin with thinking they gave me more support, but they became really painful to wear.

I then switched to the simple Mothercare ones, which I used throughout pregnancy and also during breastfeeding months. Nothing sexy but very comfortable. So when you are choosing you might want to buy ones which you can use after birth as well, so you don't need to buy again.

Also, remember that you may need to sleep in these bras (as you will be leaking!) so best to get ones which are really comfortable!

Hi Bubbly
it's a good thing to know! Oh my god, as it is my first baby, I feel so clueless. There are so many things to learn!

I haven't bought anything really, for the baby or myself, I was quite scared to get too impatient and it would bring me bad luck.

I just bought new skirts that I could wear even if I was not pregnant with very comfortable belts (not too feel guilty...).

Am I the only one? or did you all go for a shopping spree as soon as you found out you were pregnant? lol

Do you mean in TST??

I was in Jusco today in Taikoo Shing and saw some 0/3 brand cots there - they were GREAT - I loved them. I thought that the quality was about the same as the ones at Mothercare/B2B - but it was seriously about HALF the price. They're currently on sale for 20% off - and so you can get the cot AND mattress for around $1500 instead of more like $6000 at some of the other stores! One of the cots I was looking at looked practically the same as a $5000 one I'd seen earlier in the week!! I was really impressed!!

I had to buy new bras today - I went from a 34B to a 36C - woohooo!! I got cheap ones because I figured I'm gonna get larger later on probably, and when I'm nursing and all that... I'll get proper nursing bras then - but for now, I don't want to waste money on the "intermediate size"... if I stay this size for the rest of the pregnancy, cool!! And I'll buy good bras later on anyway...

And MamanV - I've hardly bought anything for baby yet. A couple of little things because I don't want to have to spend SOOOO much later on. It's probably easier to shop bit by bit, I figure...

I don't really believe in the superstitions - but I did want to wait until I was past the first trimester at least for major things... I'm 12 1/2 weeks now so I'm a bit more "ok" to get stuff IF it's an awesome price...

I remember shopping for my baby was a nightmare! I would go ito a shop, look at all the different choices and then walk out stressed!!!

By the way, in case you are not aware, every August, there is a huge Baby Fair held at the Convention Centre. Lots of things like toys, diapers, formula, strollers, grobags, bumbo seats etc. go on sale there, so you might want to hold off shopping until you go to the fair. Don't know the dates yet though.

MamanV

I'm reluctant to buy maternity clothes too at the moment. Had a look at a couple of places and they're pretty uninspiring (if anyone has good suggestions let me know, even H&M didn't look great!)

I've just bought some floaty dresses (phew we're going into summer!)

I went to Linea Negra and they had some nice stuff! - a bit on the expensive side though... Luckily, I didn't have TOO much time to shop! ;P

try zara, they have really nice stuff there.
had my 14 weeks scan yesterday. amazing, i could actually see eyes and the nose. unbelievable how fast the baby grows. everything is perfectly fine. except that i am too big. doc said i have to cut down my eating habit. :( not so easy when you are always hungry. i am actually not that big, but just compared to my weight i had before the pregnancy... oh my god, i've gained a lot, arghhh
nice weekend to all of you
nina
