Due Oct-Dec 08??

Hi All,

Sorry I've been feeling a bit under the weather these past couple of days. It's awful. Poor baby hasn't been able to sleep with my constant coughing!!!

Re lunch, I think it'll be best for me to wait til next week - to let myself fully recover and also cos I'm anticipating a hectic week at work (with new club opening!!). Next Wed/Thur would be better for me. But if it's not suitable for others, then no worries!

Sorry you've been so sick!! I hope you get better soon!!

My MIL is visiting, getting in next week on Tuesday, so I don't know if I can do lunch then - maybe I can sneak away though - I know I'll need a break ;)

And I heard the same thing about Tsan Yuk - that you can only register after 10 weeks (I'm 10 weeks tomorrow) - and only on Wednesday or Saturday. I think maybe I'll go register on Wednesday of next week, maybe...

hi everyone,

i would love to join you guys for lunch, but as i work fulltime i can only manage on the weekend, or one of the upcoming public holidays.
hope to meet you all soon

Hi everyone

Just wondered if anyone had any advice re hospitals. At the moment I'm on the waiting list for Matilda but I have been accepted at the Adventist.

The Adventist want a deposit which is not returned if you decide not to go there. Has anyone heard good things re the Adventist? or is it a risk holding out for Matilda? slightly scary amount of money to pay what seems to be so early in a pregnancy!

P.S Wednesday or Thursday is good for me for lunch

Smiles,

I have heard good things about Adventist. They have a jacuzzi tub in the labour room to help ease the pain and the tub opens on the side so you don't have to climb out!

The rooms are nice too.

Why don't you go and have a look and see if you like the environment. I did tours of all the hospitals when I was pregnant with my first so that I know what I am paying for.

To be honest, the 'scare' about not getting a room was last year when a lot of mainlanders came to HK to give birth PLUS it was the year of the Golden Pig, which was super good to have babies. I am not sure if this year will be as congested as last, but none of my friends had problems in the end with their chosen hospital even if they were on waitlist, they got in. Hope that gives you some comfort.

Hi Bubbly

Thanks so much for the advice. Doing a tour sounds like a great idea.

12 week scan tomorrow, very excited!

Hello everyone - so tomorrow is my first appt at Tseun Yak - I am so excited - Purple flower thank you for reminding me that it is Wednesday not tuesday my baby brain is not great!! I am excited/scared - I always faint a blood tests - pathetic but true!

Still feeling so tired I can barely get up to go to work. I am starting to show quite a bit now - I always used to have such a flat tummy that I already seem huge - my husband is a bit freaked out already bless him!

Now when shall we get together - Is Central ok for everyone or how about Discovery Bay for lunch at the weekend???

Weekends are bad for me because I work on Saturday and am involved in church on Sunday - but maybe we can plan two get togethers - that way hopefully everyone can go to at least one of them!

I was planning on going to Tsan Yuk today but I got lazy... ah well, maybe next week ;)

OK Tsun Yak today and all good, they were great and very organised and sweet to me. They took 6 tubes of blood but no scan :( I am desperate to see the baby - I think I might go private just for one scan so I can see the baby - I know it sounds silly but I am dying to see him/her....

Hi There!!!!!!!!

I Am Six Wks Preggy Now.........this Morning I Had A Little Spotting........i Went To See Doc This Afternoon..........she Said Everythings Fine And She Can See The Baby's Heart......she Gave Me Some Harmones Tablets .......cause Last Year With Same Situation I Had A Miscarriage.i Hope This Time Everything Goeswell....
I Have Very Little Nausea This Time As With My Daughter Seven Yrs Before I Had Severe.......any Comments........

Looking Forward To Make New Due Date Friends.

Hi everyone

We went for our 12 week scan today. So fantastic to see fingers, hands and baby jumping around! Dr couldn't tell if it's a boy or a girl so we'll just have to wait a little longer.

Ruchee - from what I know nausea varies so much from each pregnancy. I've had no nausea (lucky me!) but I also have a friend who spent most of the first 3 months over a bowl!

Does anyone want to pick a date and place for a meet up? Putting it out there but how about Monday 14th? (gives people time to get organised?)

I've only been here 3 months so hoping someone else will have a good suggestion of where.

I could probably do Monday 14th, if I could sneak away from my MIL ;)

Are people who work gonna come? If NOT, then maybe we should avoid Central because of all the workers, it can get really busy... maybe Causeway Bay - it's not as crazy at lunch time...

Hi,
I can meet on the 14th, but have an appointment at 2:30. Are we meeting for lunch or just a coffee/tea? I live in Happy Valley, but have to go to Hollywood Road in the afternoon, so anywhere is ok for me!
Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Count me in for the 14th. Would be great to meet all of you.

Just booked in my 12 week scan for next week very excited to see the little one again. Hopefully this time hubby can come with me, he couldn't get time off work for the first scan.

Just joining - 43 and 4 wks preg with baby#2

Hi,

I just found this board and thought I'd join. I'm also just returning to HKG after being in the US for 10 years, where I had my daughter 2 years ago. I'll be moving into the flat in Happy Valley end of next week so would love to hook up with other moms for playdates or just chatting.

I'm also exploring the public vs private options for my OB and prenatal care. I have appts with Dr. Ghosh, Dr. Macor Wan and Dr. Lucy Lord over the next 3 weeks, in that order. I have heard good and bad things about Dr. Lord, so I'm interested to meet her. Have heard nothing but good reviews of the other docs. I'm looking for a doc that still offers "packages" for their fees. I'm also booked into Tsan Yuk in early May when I would be around 10 weeks.

Not sure on hospitals yet....had C-section before, so chances are likely I'll have another. Most important is to find the hospital that will allow my husband (also a doc) to be present during surgery - very common in the US but perhaps not here.

Looking forward to getting to know you and congrats to all!!! My advice to first timers is to really relax and enjoy the pregnancy! Seriously, try not to stress out about every twitch and pinch, b/c there will be plenty of them along the way.

hi,
unfortunately i work on the south side of hong kong island, so there is no chance for me to join the lunch. but maybe there is a chance for a coffee/tea on the weekend? hope i'll meet some of you soon.
i am 12 weeks today, can't believe i am already going into the
2nd trimester. everything looks ok so far. i think i am already showing, but not sure as i have an enormous appetite :-)
next scan is in 2 weeks, can't wait

I can't do the 14th either as I'm in the UK at the moment. Am back on the 19th so can meet up anytime after that. Have a good time on 14th :flower:

Lunch of April 14

I'd love to join for the lunch on April 14th. Has a location and time been decided? Looking forward to it :) Causeway Bay is fine for me too.

I was thinking for the 14th - we could do:
a) Causeway - a bit quieter than Central, although Kharel couldn't come if we go there...
b) Central - busier, but Kharel can come
c) Soho - maybe a good compromise, a bit quieter than Central, maybe Kharel can come still coz it's not THAT far away, depending on how long she gets for lunch and all...

So... what do you all think??
