Due Date - March 2015

Hi Kartaly,
I'm at 10 weeks and I'm starting to show! Nausea has started to subside at last, now I'm just tired. So hoping for a burst of energy soon.

Ooh, you are lucky to have your nausea subside at 10 weeks! I'm still pukey, but am thinking that's due to my progesterone supplements.
So exciting to finally be showing! Me too - but I'm resisting buying new clothes (not in the mood to shop anyway), so trying to wear my fat clothes first.

I got myself a belly belt to extend my trousers as I don't want to buy any new trousers for work. They have made me so much more comfortable it's amazing!

Hi mums to be. Im due mid March with my second baby. Def going to Matilda Hotel. I am available in morning so I am keen and available to go for walk or just getting out! I had morning sicness for a month and starting to feel more normal. Seeing Dr Lucy in 2 weeks for Oscar test...

Im due early March! Even though I am still not really convinced to deliver my very first baby here in HK instead of my home country, my hubby already booked Matilda and Im seeing Dr.Grace CHEUNG atm, ooopsy~

It will be great to catch up with you guys as all of my g.fs are still singles who do not share same feelings with me at this stage ;) Anyone out there who fancies grabbing some healthy drinks or sweeeets with me?

Hi Nikki, I had the Oscar test at the Central Health medical centre with Dr. Grace on Mon. All the best for your check up soon with Dr. Lucy :)

I delivered with Dr. Cheung at Matilda for my first and again for this pregnancy. You ladies are in great hands. She's wonderful and so is Matilda.

Sorry Isabella, I just saw your questions now.
My husband was mid-air unfortunately so he didn't make the birth. But - there's a labour ward and a delivery room. Labour ward you are in by yourself (it's a ward, so other ladies & nurses are there too, but outsiders not permitted). You will be in the labour ward until you're 3cm dilated, after which you move to the delivery room - at this time husband or birth partner can join you (but only 1 person, and you can't change that person at half time either!).
English wasn't bad, but being literally on my own and in a lot of pain, I found they weren't really listening to me. I'd mentioned an allergy to pethadine in my birth plan & again when they offered it, tried the entonox and it made me vomit, then when I was screaming for pain relief they said I'd refused it!!! WTF?! So I was extremely wound up about that, and exacerbated by not having a support person to help.
Would I do it again? At a push I would - now knowing what to expect, I think it is a good quality service & very affordable. But in saying that, I'm going private this time, even though it's going to be all out of pocket.

Hi Ladies,

Had my 12 week check up today and my down syndrome screening. Baby is doing A OK and the downs screening went well, just waiting for the blood work to come back.
Only downsides to today's appointment was that 1 - I spent a total of 4.5 hours in the hospital, and 2. I didn't get a copy of my scan.

Hope everyone else's check ups are going well too.

Great to hear! Mine's next Fri.
I've been having mild cramps on & off for a few days now - it settled today and no other symptoms, but looking forward to the check up to make sure everything's good.

I had my 12 week scan yesterday, really nice to see the baby again & now just waiting for the blood to come back.

I had to ask for a copy of the scan & they got me one for a small fee, about 250 - this was public so not sure on private.

MrsMaow I didn't even think to ask if I could pay for a copy, I must remember for next time. Also forgot to ask for my attendance certificate to give to work too.
Must put these on my to do notes for next time.

Hi everyone! This is Lois, I am new here. Also expecting in March 2015, around the last week. Hope to meet some moms to be in the next event! As some of the ladies here, I am also seeing Dr. Grace at Central Health, she has been great so far. Just can't wait to be in the second trimester to feel better soon! A few more days to go :)!

Congrats! Have to say how lucky you are, I tried to book Dr.Grace before, but failed, she is too popular. My due date is even earlier than yours, they told me that they will only have vacancy until early April, so I guess you probably sent the application form quite early. My current OB is also very good, so no complain.

Thanks Lesiley! Yea Grace is pretty busy, but since my GP is also with Central Health, maybe that is why I was lucky enough to get her. Good to know you found a good OB you like too! Sometimes could be a bit tricky in HK.

Yeah, I agree, they actually booked me in at the first beginning, but they don't do NIFTY, only do Harmony. So I told them that I might have my NIFTY done in some other clinic and I would stick with Grace for the rest check-ups also use her for delivery, then they just simply cancelled my appointment with Grace and said later told me that Grace wouldn't be available until early April, lol.

Hi All. I am due mid March. Luckily been pretty healthy apart from fatigue caused by an underactive thyroid. So we are doing the private/public thing, been using Annerley midwives who have been great so far and booked into Eastern Hospital. Having fun meeting male medical professions who want to lecture me on my age (I am 37 - and yes I know I am old and at risk of being at risk!!!!) but apart from that the system seems to be working quite well.
