hi mommies

so long never check this thread oredi....seems like got lots of "new" members. My gal is now almost 11 mths...anyone else organising meetups?

Hi, I am Malaysian, with a 7plus months old baby boy.
My husband is a local HK and I been living in HK for more than 4 years.
I am working in Central, I love my job but been very itching to quit my job for my boy. He's just so cure now and more interactive, so getting out to work every morning is so difficult, it has to take at least 10 minutes saying goodbye, kissing and hugging him before I head to the door...looks like I am the one has developed the seperation anxiety from my boy...hahaha

I would like to know how many of you are stay-at-home-mom? Would you share your experience being a full-time mom? :)

In fact, I had registered myself here for sometimes, but never had time reading much or posting.

BTW, snowbird, my gyne was also Dr. Patrick Chan at 5/F.,Takshing House in Central. He is great!

Hi kplus

thanks for your recommendation on dr patrick chan - will KIV him as I have others lined up to see before deciding (feels weird saying that, like shopping for the right pair of shoe!)

i'm full-time stay home mum - its great although sometimes can be stifling so i make sure i get some "me-time" - facials, massages, shopping and girly lunches or coffee (anyone need a new companion? PM me!!!) but overall it is very satisfying (mind you there are times I want to throw in the towel and get back to work, maybe because my son is 21 months now and going through the very very clingy stage (i think) but I get separation anxiety if I don't see him for more than couple of hours.

I'm new in HK so love to meet all the Sporean/Msian mums - any more plans to meet soon?

:flower:

heya,

im from singapore too and have been here for 8months. my son is now 10mths old and we'd love to meet up too!

Hi Ladies

sorry my question is out of these thread

greetings from Indonesia, moved to HK since Aug 2007 from OZ, now im in my first pregnancy and sometimes I have craving of local singaporeans/malay food like good nasi lemak, roti and kway teo..

my questions is if anyone knows singaporeans/malay restaurants that taste authentic please..please...

cheers
:thanks

ooooh boy, you're gonna be dissapointed as you cant find true authentic singapoean/malay restaurants here. sad.

i know its gonna be tedious but do try cooking it on your own, get the ingredients from some indonesian stall & create chaos in your kitchen, it wld be way worth it! :D

have u tried the Malaysian place in LKF? The guy makes fresh parathas? They are soo yummy

maybe we shld get together at one of our homes n do potluck! im realli dying for some good old chicken rice, laksa, prawn noodle.... and did i mention lemak???

thanks ladies, bit dissapointed no s'pore/malay restaurants..sobs..
but i found the chicken rice in HK taste different than in s'pore.. even the indonesian cakes, miss 'Bengawan Solo' treats..sobs again!!

cheers

the paratha in LKF is alright :D kek~ still those greasy, stuff back home do kickass heehe.. especially with sambal.

yes indonesian cakes here varies too sadly, i was so glad i didn't have any singaporean/malay cravings during my pregnancy or im sure id go crazy! kek~

but yes, we shld do potluck somtime, & dragonfly@jkt i cld make some ondeh2 or perhaps some steamed cakes! i love baking them but end up eating all up since my hub have'nt developed the tongue for singaporean food much! lol

I have tried the Malaysian style prawn mee soup at PRAWN NOODLE HOUSE at Grand Millennium Place (Queen's Rd Central. HK). They are lovely. However, I have also tried some very dissappointing Indonesian foods (Curry chicken, yellow ginder rice) at Central area.

May I suggest to have a tentative date for meeting up. I am usually free after 2pm for the entire week except Tuesday. (Mom and baby coffe group).

How about this suggestion:

Date : 5 Dec 08 (Friday)

Time : 2pm. (The fastest I can reach town is 2.25pm, our shuttle bus doesnt leave our flat untill 2pm) The reason I am suggesting 2pm is because some of the moms cant make it after 3pm)

Place : IFC Starbuck. maybe we can do potluck after this.
I am not a good cook though. But I think I can make a better Bo bo cha cha compare to the food malls here :)

Welcome any suggestion and hear from all of you soon.

Cheers,
Ai Li

I heard there's a Spore/Malaysia restaurant in City Garden Hotel, Northpoint and their nasi lemak sambal is pretty good.
And the chicken rice at Mandarin Oriental is also very good. I had it at food republic, Olympic city yesterday it's also not bad.

I'm 5months pregnant heh heh heh!

Hi Ladies

I am stay home mum and free to meet anywhere/anytime as long as there is good Spre/Msian food! I'm 10 weeks pregnant so the craving is really driving me crazy plus I'm new here so really don't know where to go :frown: Lucky I bought some pre-packed curry/sambal, etc so getting my fair share of chicken curry and sambal prawns!

So name the place and time and look forward to meet you ladies then!
