Hi,

I am new to HK and living in Discovery Bay. I have 2 boys, aged 5 and 7 years. Would like to meet up with fellow Singaporean and Malaysian moms. Any in Discovery Bay/Tung Chung?

Cheers,
Lacie

Hi Lacie!

My friend, a Singaporean, and I meet at Tung Chung, almost every Sat. for coffee at around 11ish. You are more than welcome to join us. I have a 2 year old. He comes along too. And, sometimes, a Canadian friend comes too!

PM me and I'll let you know when we'll be meeting next.

Cheers!

Hi Ladies,
I'm a Singaporean and been staying in Tung Chung for a year now. It's quite rare to meet a Singaporean for me as I don't really know where to look. Been in HK for over 3years now.
Love to join you Ladies if you don't mind..

Cheers

Hi Tunstall,

I have PM Spockey, hopefully message received cos first time for me. Happy for you to join of course. You can PM me too and we can meet up in Tung Chung (I like the foodcourt there!) during the weekdays.

Cheers.

I'm the Sporean friend that Spockey meets on Sats. But unfortunately for the next 2 Sats, we won't be meeting because I'll be stuck at work....Damn....But we should be resuming our breakfast catchups on 8th Mar, I think. Oh, the foodcourt there, don't bother with the chicken rice, it's pretty bad now, it used to be good. The Thai is great still.

Hi ladies!

I can't make it on either Satursdays, 23/02 and 01/03, as we both have work commitments... school's just started again after the CNY break. We both work so it's a little harder to meet during the week unless it's for dinner.

We'll be organising a meet-up for the 8th if you're interested. Will keep both of you posted.

Cheers!

Hi Hi,

Ok, look forward to the 8th then. Sunniefaith, I think you were the one who told me to come to Geobaby forum to have a look. Thanks. My eldest boy loves the chicken rice and I have only eaten the nasi lemak - what to do, a little taste of it better than none when you miss food back home.

Cheers,
Lacie

Sorry Lacie,

My memory fails me at times! I'm sure we must have met before. Get the Brahims' premix or Prima Taste premix. I survive on that all the time. But well, I go home almost once every month too. Let me know what you need from Spore. I'll be heading back in Mar during Easter again.

Hi Sunniefaith,

No, don't worry your memory didn't fail you. We have not met, just on another site I think called GeoExpat.

By the way, do you or spokey know if there is any curtain shop and alteration shop in Tung Chung? Desparately need to make curtains for the house and do some clothes alteration. Thanks, Lacie

Lacie,

Phew! Thought I was really getting old! I don't know where to get curtains as my place came fully furnished along with the curtains. Clothes alteration, I know a place in Kwai Fong that does hemming for pants and that's all I know. Most of my stuff if I do need alteration, I lug them back to Spore to get them done. Or sometimes I get them done at the store that I purchased my clothes.

Hi All

I am looking for a Malaysian/Indonesian masseur who does Post Natal Massages (with Jamu Herbs) . I know this is not the correct group to ask, but I trust some of you must have recently gone through this search. Appreciate your help

Cheers

Hello everyone,

I wonder if this thread is still active but I just found this when I searched for "Malaysian" so hope I can get to contact you guys. Both me and husband are Malaysian Chinese and we moved to HK about 7 months ago. I stay in Discovery Bay and wonder if you still meet up? I'd be happy to join.

Oh btw, I send clothes for alteration in the Tung Chung wet market. Her shop is just beside the bookstore. It's not really an alteration shop, she sells things like undergarments, hair clips etc but also do alteration and I find her good and price is cheap too.

Hi Pekkie,

I live in DB too!!! Would love to meet up with you. Give me a call. I have sent you a PM with my contact details.

Cheers,

Hi,

I am from Malaysia. We moved to HK 4.5 month ago. I have a 2 months old baby girl.

Cheers,

Any Singaporean/Malaysian mums and mums to be living near Hung Hom, would love to meet for Chicken Rice, Laksa, and Mee Siam.....Prima packs of course, for support.

Hi Ladies

Hope this thread is still active. I'm malaysian but lived in Singapore last 20 years. Moving to HK end of this month and would really like to get to meet some of you. I have a 21 month old boy and will be living in a service apartment in Tai Koo Shing for a month. I know some of you are at DB but if anyone in HK island and meeting up, please let me know.

Also I just found out I'm pregnant - can anyone recommend a good OBGYN? Mine in SG recommended one in HK but she seems to be very popular and has a highly controversial practice and recently been banned in one of the hospitals she can deliver babies! Don't know what to think! Any tips/ideas highly appreciated.

For those of you living in DB, what is it like? My husband will be working in Admiralty but he don't quite like the idea of being restricted to the ferry schedule, etc so we're looking at either Pokfulam or Clearwater Bay/Silverstrand. Anyone been there or can share thoughts about it?

Thanks
Gwen

Hi All,

My husband and I are both Malaysians and we have stayed in HK for 3 years now. We have a 2.5 years boy (borned in HK), and recently found out I'm pregnant again! Would love to meet up as well whenever there is a gathering.

Snowbird: I have made appointment with Dr David Ng at Central (my previous OBGYN has retired). My friend, who is also a Malaysian, had engaged him as OBGYN previously and highly recommended him. However he only delivers babies at Canossa Hospital, HK Island (a private hospital). You may want to consider him....

Rgds,
Sandy

Hi Snowbird,

My obgyn is Dr Ghosh and he is quite popular although some people find him a bit brash. I gave birth to my boy (now 6 months) here in HK at Mathilda Hospital.

We live in DB and it is great for children cos there is space and less pollution. I don't like the ferry either but the reason we live here is for the children. You should take a trip over to DB to look at it - we didn't consider it at all at first due to the ferry but changed our mind when we came for look see.

Hope above helps.
