My 10month old has an allergy to cow's milk and dairy products. I plan to stop breastfeeding when he reaches 1 year old, and need some advice regarding formula.
I am a little confused about whether he should he switch to soy or hypoallergenic formula?
I got a book from the library and the nutritionist rated soy milk formula last (after breastmilk, cow's milk, goat's milk). I know you shouldn't give it to babies under 6 months due to the high level of phto-oestrogen, but is there still a risk for older babies?
Is hypoallergenic formula still made from cow's milk and is it the same as hydrolysate formula?
What about goat's milk?
Any advice or recommendations on which brand to use would be much appreciated.
