shape of your bump reveals gender of baby?

Is the Chinese 'belly shape tells gender' accurate for you?

I carried three boys, looked like I was carrying boys (pointy), scans confirmed early on they were boys and deep inside, I knew they were boys, too. Had a girl's name picked out - just in case, which I loved, but knew I wouldn't get to use it. Sigh. I think I'm done!

I'm on my second now, and I'm pretty much the same shape as the first, but even more pointy. I've only a month to go so I don't think I'll change too much. My first was a boy and this one is a girl. I guess for some it just depends on how your body carries the pregnancy.

Everyone thought I was going to have a boy with my last pregnancy because I carried low, but alas I have two girls.

In Italy we say the same as Chinese does: pointed and high belly is a boy, round and low belly is a girl.
well now I'm carrying a baby boy and my belly is really up and pointed...

i say go with the colour of your nipples they say boys = darker nipples girls =lighter or the same during pregnancy, was true for me and a couple of my friends that knew about it

My nipples are way darker and I m having a girl. As for the belly it is pointy and highish...everyone thinks I m caring a boy. Chinese people get suprise if I say that I m having a girl. I guess it really depends on your body!

no, actually i can not observe that. i saw many pregnant woman, sometimes it was right sometimes not. I think its 50:50 so a good chance to be right.. but its fun.. so a nice "game"..
:-)

There's really no scientific proof to this (though they say the shape would depend on uterus, placenta, etc), but it's fun. I had a high and really round belly (so perfectly round I got compliments a lot) and I'm petite. The locales predicted I was gonna have a boy and they're surprised whenever we say it's a girl and yet they still insisted my u/s's wrong and I was really gonna have a boy and I might have twins too! Alas, it's a girl on the u/s it's clear as daylight her legs are wide open announcing to the world she's a girl and no twin! :D The Chinese calendar is also fun and it was true for us.

My Chinese hairdresser so kindly pointed out how broken out my face was and said all those pimples mean I'm having a boy!! I have never heard that theory, but thought thanks for commenting on my "pregnancy glow" aka overly oily skin!!

The Chinese think they can tell by looking at you.
Our girl was to be a boy according to peeps on the street.
Even after the dr told us it would be a girl.. They saw it on the ultrasound, still people would say the dr was wrong. Whaha.
Turned out to be a girl anyway.

Honestly, I've never believed in any of these old wives' tales! In Russia they have lots of them too, including this one, about the shape of your bump. Sometimes people can be quite annoying, telling you all the way through that they 'know' who you're having just because they go by these myths.
My belly's shape is kinda hard to tell: not really pointy, but at the same time it's not perfectly round either. According to the scan we did last week, I'm going to have a girl.
I have a friend whose belly was always pointy during her 3 pregnancies and folks continually said she was with boys, yet, all of her pregnancies turned out to be girls.
I think human body (especially, when it comes to women's health and childbearing) is so complicated, with so many unsolved mysteries, that there simply cannot be any definitive answers or recipes...
