We are still meeting, though a lot of us are not in HK at the moment ( getting in that last visit home!)
I've been trying to get to Sydney this week (staff standby) but the flights are full aaarrrgh! So I'm still here.
Able to meet up tomorrow if anyone is keen.

Hi Ladies, I am back! I am so excited to catch up on baby talk - especially about prams, baby stuff and the antenatal courses. As soon as I stepped off the plane on Monday I realized that I am way behind with preparations for baby.
I am not able to meet this Friday, but would love to get together for a late lunch or coffee on Friday 21 July. I'll throw a note on the Oct. lunch thread.

At my last visit I was 28 weeks but the baby's head was measuring 30 weeks and 3 days. This worried me too, but the Doctor said that as long as was in proportion with the rest of the body was not a problem. The Doctor also estimated that at 28 weeks our baby was three pounds or just over!!
He said it was all down to genetics (I am of average size etc. but my husband is tall and broad and was a huge baby); he also said it wasn't much fun for Mum if the baby's head was big so I'm a little worried too!

I'm also seeing my Doctor every two weeks; and I plan to have vaginal delivery too which is pretty scary- but I figure because this is my first baby and so I don't know how painful labour is, even if our baby is big, for me it will just be what labour feels like.
Whereas if I'd had a smaller baby already, then I would have something to compare it too and may find it more painful!
Am preparing myself for a lot of pain anyway- and plan to have plenty of drugs on standby.
My husband was a huge baby and as a consequence was born early- he was born four weeks early and weighed 8.5 pounds; so there is a chance that a baby who is going to be big may be born a little earlier at a more reasonable weight!

Transportation from hospital
Can anyone tell me if hk hospitals have any rules on how to transport the baby out of the hospital. I mean, is having a stroller or a carrier necessary for the hospital staff to allow us to bring our baby home? In California, mothers are not allowed to carry their newborns in their arms and so the carrier is necessary. Also, they must have safely installed the carseat/carrier in their cars and is safe for transport.

I also got the infant insert for the ergo carrier, haven't figure it out yet how to do it, my husband tried it and he said we can learn it later
Where did you get your AIO? there's a lot of choices for cloth nappies that it's confusing which one to get. I got the pocket diaper, i guess it's almost the same as AIO.
The bag that i got is not so nice, it's just the classic design, but with that price, i'm so happy. My regret is not having the other one that i was holding, there were only two left, i saw it at the shop and it's still there for 6k, too bad my budget is for one bag only. Once the baby is here, i might not be buying expensive bags anymore

SyL, concerning the hospital rules, I dont think there is as I carried him in my car seat and most of my friends, delivering at Matilda like me or in other hospitals, public or privates carried their baby in a baby carrier.
How is everyone coping? Not too tired with that heat and your bellys?
Don't hesitate to pop questions whenever you need to as I delivered not so long time ago (15 months nearly) in Matilda (normal delivery, epidural, episiotomy but not too bad experience as I'm doing it again -16 weeks preggy now and it's a baby girl !)

I try not to worry. When my sister was 20+ weeks pregnant, she was told that the baby may be born with Down Syndrome or another genetic problem and they were pushing her for genetic counseling and further testing. This happened with both her pregnancies. Although, she was extremely worried, she decided to hope for the best and continued on believing her babies were healthy. Months later she delivered perfectly healthy babies and took them home the following day. So, I'm following my sisters advice, praying for what matters most, a healthy baby.
I read somewhere that dreams or nightmares are quite normal, but your nightmares could be caused by your worry and I know it's hard to ignore such fears. Good luck to you and many blessings to your baby! Your almost there!

I have been given a Laura Ashley cotton fitted sheet 125cmx 70cm, which unfortunatley is too small for my 135x 70cm cot mattress!
Does anyone have a cot this will fit?

I can't go to this Friday's lunch as i have a yoga class, i can go to the lobby of your condo on weekend, saturday night is okay as we eat at Soho. Let me know if it's alright.

The pocket diapers seem good, you can take the insert/s out and it will dry a lot more quickly. Also you can adjust the amount of insert to suit your needs. I have only bought AIOs though to start with, and will get more adventurous once I have the faintest clue with what I am doing!!
Everyone keeps telling me that B2B have fitted nappies, but I have trouble focussing in there and have never spotted them!
I've bought all of mine on line. I bought 3 of each of the following, so I could test run some different types.
Bumkins - stocked by Doubidou the local website
Rumsters - trim fit
Bum Genius - one size that apparently goes from new born to toilet training!!
Bubble Bubs - Hand made Australian fleece ones that were recommended.
I also have a stash of diposables in case it is all a bit too much to start with!!
I am planning on trying the dry pail method, where you don't soak them before washing.

Same here, i've got 3 pcs from different suppliers, i got fitted (i find it troublesome to still use a wrap/cover) and pocket diaper (has fleece layer) only.
Aside from the disposables (3 brands) that i bought, i have prefold and muslin cloths which i might use too for economical reason.
Really an experiment thing to do. Let's talk later which one is better to use.
