Congratulations mum_babes, it must all seem so much more real now. I can't wait to find out.

Alex, I understand where you are coming from. I guess I have just had years of bad experiences with conventional Drs and alternative ways sorted me out in no time. But you are right, you do have to becareful when pregnant : )

MamaS try getting a air purifier from Fortress, "Boinair" it helps due to pollution

Take care then

Daisy

Hi mums_babes, congrats on having a boy too!!!

Hi Daisy, i'll check out fortress, is Boinair a humidifier or just an air purifier?

Hello mamaS,

Sorry its BIONAIRE, its only an air purifier ..it comes with the filter when u buy.....thou, the place for you to get the filter is in Tsuen Mun.

we have been using it for 2 years i change it once. its good. in our room, we use the air purifier and aircon at night. and we use the dehumidifer in day time. we are going to get another one when the baby is born.

Hello xox,

Were you the one who had flu(?) few months back? I'm down with coughing with phlegm, but doctor doesn't give me any medication. What did you do?

Any advice ladies? thanks.

Hi Mamas,
I went to the doctor and there wasn't much he could do.
I had a high fever that lasted for about three days. I was allowed to take 500mg of Paracetamol (Panadol) every four hours. I only took 2 per day. Apparently this has no adverse effect on the baby.
In addition, I took Cepacol Throat lozenges to reduce the dry cough and sore throat. I also had lots of cups of boiling water.
He suggested using a vaporiser to make my breathing a lot easier.
I think it's best to stick to these old basic remedies when you're pregnant. The best cure is time and rest!

Thanks xox,

Where to get this Cepacol Throat lozenges?

Yup, i'm using a humidifier to help in my breathing, it works.

Daisy,
I've bought bionaire, thanks for your recommendation, but i got the humidifier, not the air purifier, as it is what i needed for my sore throat, had allergy with aircon.

Alex, once the windows are closed the humidity is no longer the same, i've bought a humidifier, and right away my clog nose is gone (though replaced by runny nose ;-)

Mamas,
I had a very runny nose and sinus after that. The pharmacist and my obgyn said that I could take Piriton for that. I only took one tablet, but it was very effective.
Cepacol was available from my doctor. I found some at Watson's a few weeks ago too.

Hi mamaS,
Matilda are know to be good.
I did them at home with Sarah Pickup from "community midwifes" if you want her number.

Hi Everyone,

I'm a Newbie to this forum and am delighted to see that there are so many October Mummies To Be!! My due date is 23 October, this is my first baby and I have been through all the same things that everyone has been going through, phew!!

I felt my little one kick for the first time at 16 weeks, it was like a little flutter. I haven't felt my little-one kick for about a week now, and I am a little concerned, is this normal??

Anyway, would be great to meet up with anyone for coffee and a chat.

Best
Little-Bub

Welcome Little-Bub!

I have the same concerns. At 21 weeks, I still confuse gas bubbles, stomach rumblings and baby movements. I think that it is completely normal. To ease my own mind, I sit still for about 1/2 hour and pay mindful attention to my belly. After a few minutes I usually feel the reassuring movements.

Before you know it we will be complaining about getting kicked in the ribs.

mamaS - I am considering Annerley Midwives for antenatal classes.

Hi,
just want to let you know that we expect as well a boy. I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed...as I really wished it's a girl. I am happy now as most important is that the baby is healthy. Our first boy just turned one and I am trying to convince my husband that we need to try it a 3rd time for a girl. This time I will pay more attention to the chinese birthing chart...:0)

Hi Salzi,

Aside from the chinese birthing chart (works for me), i have come across a gender test in one of the websites. It's something about who has the "newest" blood, they say for guys it changes every 4 years, for us it changes every 3 years. So from your year of birth add 3 til you reach 2006, same for your husband, add 4. Whoever has the newest blood at the time you conceived, if it's you, then it's a girl. Did i make sense on my explanation?

There's more accuracy on this accdg to that forum, so who knows? just keep on trying.

Annerly antenatal classes are $2800. This includes five group classes plus one private session. Personally, Annerley's schedule works better than the Matilda's with my summer travel schedule. I dropped in today and spoke with Hulda and signed up for the class beginning 3 August. I am quite interested in natural childbirth and she indicated that I can go to a couple of the group classes and enroll in their new hypnobirthing program if I want to. It is not necessarily 'hypnobirthing' rather it is the next level of relaxation / natural childbirth techniques.
