Hi Christine!
Welcome to our group! I have 2 boys, one is 6+ and the other is 16 mths old, maybe the 2 little ones can play together sometime! Where in Happy Valley do u live? I used to live there so am quite familiar with the place.

Hi ChristineOoi,

Welcome to join us! My daughter is 2 years old and we live in Pokfulam, the Belcher's.

I am going back to KL in two weeks time. When I am back to HK, I will organise a get-together again. You are welcome to join us. We always meet up to makan :)

selamat "belated" hari raya

Hi Kara23 & Wee Kean,

Thank you ! i love to join you guys for makan makan, and get together with the kids. my apartment is very close to the post office :0

Can anybody tell me how to send PM from here ?

i actually needs looooottss of advice from you gals.. specially kids stuffs!

As you know Penang is very famouse for it's hawker food, char-koay teow , asam laksa and prawn noddle, had you gals tried the prawn noodle in wan-chai? is in landale street, a place call "the prawn noodle" shop, they also hvae a branch in central, it's definitely worth trying, trust me!

i miss teh tarik & nasi kandar!!!!!!!!!

Wee Kean, had a great holiday back to KL :thanks

I like Penang Char Koay Teow too and "Leng Lui Tong Sui". I will definitely go to Bangsar night market to eat the "Ai Yu Bing" (yellow jelly ice) and fried carrot cake!!!! ABC, nasi lemak, rojak, roti canai, pan mee....

You can email me and I will include you in our mailing list. We have many very "experienced" mothers to share ideas with you.

I've heard about the prawn mee stall but don't have a chance to try it as they close at 7pm and do not do delivery. I don't think it is a place where I can bring my daughter? Do you know where the shop is in Central? Thanks!

i totally agree with you kara, theie curry laksa is just so so! is there any other good malaysian food here, i tried several malaysian restaurant but it not that "authentic" lah!

Anyway, my son going to 13 months soon, when should i start register him into pre-shool and elementary? any idea?

You don't have to worry so soon! Right now I am still looking for a suitable playgroup for my 16 mth old. He is so active that it is hard keeping him at home! well, for my elder son (he's 6) i only started enrolling him in preschool when he was abt 2, and he entered when he almost 2 1/2. I guess it wouldn't hurt if you looked around now but i doubt the schools will let u apply.
YOu can PM me if you want to know more abt the schools here! or we can even meet up with our kiddies over laksa and talk!

anyone have the 101 complete idiot guide book to geobaby forum, don't know how to send pm lah :(

i took my son to kinder u, twice a week. and he love it!

love to meet up with u kara, let me know when!

to send PM, just click on my name and then u will see "send a private message to user". then to look at any messages, u need to go to user menu under private messaging (look to your left)
see ya!

Hi Weekean,
You are indeed very patriotic...haha I was just reading the posts in your forum on the Merdeka Day celebration. Bagus sekali!

I am from Penang...another place you and the Malaysian moms can try is Little Penang House. They serve quite good Char Koey Teow and Penang Hokkien mee. Other foods like dry noodles and nasi lemak can skip. They are in Hung Hom. The lady boss is a fat woman from Penang....not a very humble lady, so don't be put off by her. Sometimes she makes Assam Laksa but that one also can skip...I am very fussy with food...of course, being a Penangite. Address is G/F, 20A Sung Kit Street, Hung Hom. Number is 23624249.

Speak soon!

Thanks Gabesmom for the info. I think Har-loi once told me about this place before, am I right Har-loi? I will definitely check this place out. Is it suitable to bring toddler (smoking? space? etc) ? Thanks.

Penang Hokkien mee... prawn mee?

Anyone of you have good and spicy Sambal belachan recipie? I intend to buy some Chili Boh/giling from MY and hoping to cook nicer sambal belachan with it. Can you share your experience?

Good HK food

Hi girls,

I know we all miss our Malaysian food but, let's be positive here. Since most of us will be "stuck" here for many years or may be forever, please can you share with me/us, what HK food/HK Chinese restaurants that you like and where and why?

Let me start first: I like the dim sum served in Teoh Chew Restaurant at Lippo Centre but everytime I have to ask for extra chili sauce/oil. It is non smoking, children friendly, quite spacious and service is good too. The bad news is, yesterday was their last day in operation as the lease has finished. Now I have find a new dim sum restaurant :(

Thank you for the congrats wishes. The twins are doing well. Sorry I missed out on the last few gatherings. Hope to catch up with you guys again soon.

Renewal of Malaysian Passport in HK

Hi pals,

First of all, welcome to Jessica!

I have just came back from KL, had a great time with family but not very pleasant experience with Maybank!!!! Paid money to get ill treatment and wasted at least 2 hours to get simple thing done!!!! What kind of banking service is this????

Also, our friend who was visiting KL was charged RM 40 by taxi driver (no meter) to go to Bangsar from Mega Mall and RM 50 to go to KLCC!! He said he will never visit MY anymore.

Is Malaysia really BOLEH???? Bad service in banking industry/traffic jam/LRT never go to places that people go/bad taxi service/no one dare carrying handbag or walk in the street because of the snatch thief....... hai.. (sigh...)

I need some advice:

Where can I renew my Malaysian Passport in HK? I tried to google but found nothing useful. Can anyone give me some related websites and share with me your experience? Do I have to go there at 7am and wait for 2 hours like what I used to do in KL?

Thanks!

You can renew Malaysian passport at the Malaysian Consulate (Malaysia Building). I did that a few years ago. DOn't worry, i don't think you need to wait long.
