Hi guys,

Am interested in joining your group. I am a Malay mother to be. Moved here from San Francisco last year and am looking forward to meeting Malay speaking mothers and mother-to-be and get some baby tips!

Welcome to Motherhood SF Gal!

You are welcome to email me if you have need any baby tips and I will try to help. My daughter is 19 months old now.

Har-loi, Main Fong and all the other mums, would you like to meet up at Gymboree either tomorrow or next Wed between 2pm to 3pm for their free play session? It's free for members and $ 50 for non-members 28992210

Look forward to seeing you!

New mother group formation

Hi All,

I am a Malaysian chinese and have a 6 months old daughter. Main Fong (also Malaysian with a 8 months old daughter) and myself would love to form a new mother group. All are welcome to join:)

If anyone is interested, please PM me and will add you to the email listing for our first meeting session:) We can go makan-makan, bertutur dalam bahasa melayu, exchange baby tips, etc... isn't it gonna be fun!

Hi! I am a Malaysian Chinese married to a Hongkonger. My baby boy will turn 11 months soon. I have been reading all your msgs here and would like to join in this mummy group if it is ok!

Hi Kara23,
It'll be great if we can meet up sometime next week. I'm also a Chinese Malaysian married to a Hongkonger, my baby gal just turned 9 months. Both Har-loi and me are on the Kowloon side, is it ok for you to come over to Kowloon?
Anyone else on the Kowloon side?
Let us know.

Selamat Pagi!

Great idea Har-loi and Main Fong! It's easier to meet up if mothers live closer to each other.

Alternatively, we just meet "online". Guan, Jane, May and I are emailing each other once in a while to exchange ideas. This is great as some of us are working and some of the toddlers have playgroups to attend to. It's harder to find a suitable time and venue to meet up. Besides, we will never have the chance to talk in peace as we will be too busy chasing after our children!

Welcome to join our emailing group!

By the way, it was nice meeting up with you last Wed, Main Fong and Har-loi. I am sorry I didn't really have the chance to chat. I have to keep an eye on my active daughter the whole time! Anyway, don't forget that Gymboree doesn't open this coming Wed. It' s public holiday on 31st of May.

When the weather gets better, may be we can meet up at TST History Museum?

Wow, I am envious. I guess there are a lot of Malaysian living in HKG. Too bad, I am based in Taipei. We do have ocassional pot luck lunches which is organised about once every 2 months at each other's house. Orgnisation is done by the individual who is hosting the lunch. Perhaps you can start something similar there and set up a mailing list. Hmmm...now I WISHED I coud be there too!

Thanks for the welcome wish. I had really bad morning sickness (all day) for the last 3 months, so I have not had a chance to meet other moms and moms-to-be, as I was stuck at home all the time, unable to do anything. Thought it would never end but it started going away last week and I am so so happy. Now I can get back to my routing and I am looking foward to meeting everyone at the next gathering...

Hi everyone - I am a Malaysian Chinese from Johor! Apa khabar, semua?
Well, my malay is quite bad now..since I left malaysia when I was 17, and stayed in singapore for 10 years. My husband is also a Malaysian Chinese and we have both been in HK for the last 6 years. I recently gave birth to a baby boy and Aidan is 4 months old now.
We live in Happy Valley and I am a stay-at-home mum (stopped work ever since I had Aidan) - would be great if we could meet up sometime for coffee to chat about rendang, nasi lemak, laksa and off course our precious bayi - s.

Or if you guys are interested...we could take turns hosting lunches like what Tisha has suggested. Perhaps nasi lemak?

Yes, it would be great to get together for a Malaysian feast!! I am quite bad with making malaysian food since I left home young so I am looking forward to "stealing" some recipes! I'm originally from KL, have been in HK for almost 10 years!! So let's meet up soon!

Hi All,

My Indo. helper makes good nasi lemak and I have ikan bilis (got from melaka) and we can have sambal ikan bilis, if you all can eat spicy stuff! Yummy:)

I do not mind to host the first gathering at my place for those who are interested in meeting up. However, I live over at Kowloon side, THe waterfront (just above Kowloon airport express station).

My suggestion:-
Date: THis Friday, 9th June 2006
Time: 1.00pm
Place: The Waterfront
Agenda: Makan-makan at my place, then we can head to the toddler's play area (indoor or outdoor).

Those who are interested, you could email me at [email protected] or call me at 64140598.

See you all soon!

Dear fellow Malaysians,

Check this out:

http://www.msiahk.com/

I have some questions:

Where can I eat "Pan Mee"? They don't serve it in "Sabah"

Where can I buy "Su Zai Cai" - the vegetable that serve together with "Pan Mee"? I coudn't find it in local market nor Wan Chai Market :(

Thanks!

Why the total silence suddenly? Will be going back to KL in Aug so hoping to meet up soon! Let's plan something (brunch or coffee) or just let the kids play in the clubhouse playroom. My boy turns 1 tomorrow!!

kara

Congratulations to you kara23! Where do you live? I live in the Belcher's, Pokfulam. Our indoor playroom is terrible so I won't invite you there. The weather is really hot these days so I usually go to Gymboree or public playrooms in Shek Tong Tsui or Western Park Sport Centre.

My daughter is 20 months old and she is beyond my control so I stop eating out with her (unless my husband is coming) Too stressful!

I don't have plans for next two weeks so all of you are welcome to come to my apartment to have lunch together. After that, we can either go to Rumpus room or Gymboree or the public playrooms. If you are interested, please email me at [email protected].

Har-loi and MainFong, are you going to Gymboree tomorrow? Fancy some HK style Pan Mee? I taught my helper to prepare it the other day, not exactly the same but not too bad. Call me if you are hungry!

SF Gal, I tried to call you but no line. Are you in HK?

Hi Wee Kean!
I am at Bel-Air! Very near to you! Actually I have met up with SFGal, she also lives here. We were thinking of planning something for this group soon. Are you sure it won't be a hassle organizing lunch for all of us? Is there guest parking at your place?
Yes, I would love to try out rumpus Rooms or Gymboree, haven't been to either. My boy is becoming really restless. He can't walk yet but he can crawl really fast. There is a place called Tots and Toddlers, heard of it? Might try it out, it is in Sheung Wan. Quite convenient for me.
I will be free the week of 10th July coz then my elder one starts his summer school. so let's meet then! Alternatively we can meet at the Bel-Air playroom and then have lunch here.

kara

Selamat!

Hi Kara23 and gals

Thank you for all your tips re SIS. Can I join in the fun? Can't speak Malay, but some Bahasa. Have an 18 months in tow, and will be going to KL in July/Aug for holiday. Perhaps we can even meet up and do something in KL!!!
