I agree, the longer the better. I think 38 weeks for a singleton is quite early. Unless there would be medical issues of course. My first one was born 9 days late (came by herself; I was scheduled for induction 13 days late) but was very big (so they advised me to have an induction at 39 weeks the second time, but I miscarried). I was induced with the twins, but even with multiples they would not schedule me before 38 weeks (I had them at 38w2d) because due dates can always be a little off, so 37 is usually not recommended. Before 38 weeks my hospital required an amnio to check for lung maturity (US in my case). I don't think you'll run into major issues at 38 weeks, but it's still 2 weeks early.
