I have never seen so many pregnant ladies as in HK!

This time in 4 days I will have had my scan - can't wait!

Congratulations and welcome to the group.

Jjald, we seem to have the same gyn. Dr Cora is very nice, Im very comfortable with her.

I had my appointment with her this morning. She did manage to see the little Sac..she said it was tiny. However, she was unable to detect a heartbeat!!!! she was slightly concern as I am about 6 weeks and 1 day pregnant.!!!
(although now its possible that I am less than that, hence no heart beat)
I have to go back next week and fingers crossed there will be a heartbeat.
Meanwhile, I guess all I can do is try not to worry too much and Pray that there is a heartbeat at the next visit.

Daisygirl, how did your appointment go? Hope all went well.

So I went to teh doctor forthe first time on friday and she did 1 blood test (not even sure what for) any way she called me today and said she had booked me an appointment with Dr Cora ( so the same as you ladies I think) as my results were very high,like 88330???? Said this could mean either that I am alot further gone,like 11 weeks or could be twins!!!!!
I have my scan tomo at 4.30, am so scared....do any of you lot know what your blood reading was to give me a clue if mine is really that high!?!?

Hey, thats pretty amazing...the possibility of carrying twins or/and being almost 11 weeks pregnant...wow..

I didn't have a blood test when I went to see Dr Cora. She did a urine tests and confirmed my pregnancy, so im afraid I cant help.

Good luck with your scan tomorrow. It'l be so exciting. Do let me know how you get on.

Hi Daisygirl

I had the blood test you are talking about, but unfortunately the nurse didn't give me the value so I can't compare it for you.

I was very early pregnant when I had mine, so I had it done twice 48 hrs apart. This is because the level doubles every 48 hrs, so in early pregnancy it can give you an indication if something is not developing properly. So, if were 11 weeks instead of 6 or 7, the reading would be so much higher than the nurse/doc was expecting.

StargazeLilly - try not to stress (I know easier said than done). I have heard that the heartbeat cannot always be detected so early and sometimes cannnot be seen until more like 7 weeks so I'm sure everything will be fine.

Daisygirl, I had that blood test too but really early on, when it doubled every 48 hours. It increases massively so it may be that you are a few weeks further on than you thought.

Hi Ladies,
I had my scan yesterday and all is well, 1 little heartbeat and a funny little blob haha, due on the 18th of Sep...So happy..

Dr Cora said I am 7 weeks, so altho my blood count was very high,she could see no twins,later stage etc,some people just have a high count,just means a healthy,if sicky pregnancy.

Next Tuesday sounds fab, I am so sad I will be the last to have my scan! I just want it over and done with now, I am getting quite nervous which is weird.

I can do lunch or dinner no problem. Daytime is not so easy as have to work unfortunately.

I am starting back at Pure Yoga tomorrow, their pre-natal class so will let you know what it is like if anyone is interested. I also have some guest passes if anyone feels like joining me one day.

Dinner for me is not so good at the moment as in the evenings I get pretty shattered and just feel like sleeping...:(

Tuesday is fine for me, I work in lkf and I only work 4 hours aday and can pick and choose what hours I do, so just let me no the plans and I will come along what ever....

I feel sick all the time,worst at night and funny thing I now want to eat everything!!!!! lol

As for the tiredness,I cant keep my eyes open at night and then wake up wide awake at 6 in the morning!?!!?

O the joys....

Iv never done Yoga befor! Wouldnt mind trying tho?

Daisygirl, know what you mean about waking up early, it's really annoying me! I was awake an hour before the alarm this morning.

StargazeLilly, I will let you know how the pre-natal class is and a schedule of the classes. You are welcome to join any time that suits.

Goodbye kitty, really have no idea about the scan, nobody seems able to tell me and I didn't get much sense out of the TY when I called them. To be on the safe side I am going to see Cora Ngai on Friday. Happy to pass on her details if you want them.

Hi Girls,

I work on Tues arvos so unfortunately won't be able to meet up with you all next week :( Tues arvos is the only arvo I am not free ... of course always the way! Hopefully next time we can get together on another day as I would love to come along and meet you all.

I have my appt at Tsan Yuk this Sat to register with QMH. I have no idea what is going to happen but will be able to give you all the low down afterwards. I am pretty sure there is not going to be a scan so I am seeing my private dr on Monday for a scan and to get a more accurate due date and check all is well.

Girls I am going to have my baby back in the uk,am going to fly back end of July/beginnng of Aug.
I had my scan with Cora yesterday and have another appointment in a months time with her,do any of you know if this is all I need to do ( I mean just see her ) or do I need to see a normal docter for any thing or have hospital appointments for any thing am lost????

Daisygirl, when i first met Dr Cora she told me that until the birth of the baby I would only have contact with her and I would only need to see my GP for non pregnancy related matters.

I don't think there is anything much you need to do now, apart from keep your appointments with her....and enjoy you pregnancy... :)

Wow, that will be so nice going back to the UK to give birth and having your family around you.

I've been hunting through some older threads on the pregnancy forum. From what I read, we simply register at Tsan Yuk and will only get the 20 week scan with them (this is pretty typical practice in the UK) so we need to suppliment with private scans.

Little Lamb - hopefully you can give us more details this weekend.

I don't have a private Dr yet so I need to look into that. I'd really like hubby to be there so would need a 5pm or Sat appointment - has anyone had a problem getting these times? How much is the consulation with Dr Ngai?
