Due Oct-Dec 08??

indeed very interesting. just came back from my appointment and the doctor told me that i've gained too much weight, AGAIN!! pretty annoying these doctors :) the worst thing was, that my husband sat next to my smiling. and when we left the first thing he said was, see i told you so... i wish he could be pregnant one day to experience all the suffering we go through. anyway, my breast probably put on 1000g each already, but i am pretty sure it'll all go away very soon. lets all go for looong walks with the babies later :)

At least when the babies are all born, it'll be winter so it won't be so painful to be outside then!! The last few weeks, I've been staying indoors all the time because I can't take the heat!!

Well, your baby does give you some extra weight but as soon as he/she is running, the extra weight will be shaken off. S/he makes you fat and s/he will make you thin too. For now, enjoy and eat!

Weight Gain :(

Nina - for whats it's worth I can really not tell that you've gained 'too much'...I think the scales must be lying!! And yes perhaps it's time for hubby to be preggers!

Nicole - the heat is totally getting to me as well! I was always the one who put the heat up and lately I'm just a flaming furnace. At least these past few days haven't been too bad.

I had an appointment today - the doctor "hinted" that gaining about 4 1/2 kg by 27 weeks was too much!! Everything that I've read has said that it's on the really LOW side - not too much!!

I also had to book my glucose tolerance test as well. Fun fun!! I get to have that in a couple of weeks.

If it's TY, they did that to me too. I don't think they look at the weight before, just the current number and base it on all the tiny little chinese girls they see. Cos she hinted I I'd put a bit too much on, then said "but, for that height.... it's ok" which, I thought, was a bit of a strange comment cos I'm not tall!?! I didn't take any notice of it cos I KNEW I was gaining healthily!

I have put on 12.5 KG and doctor said thats ok for "white woman with big bum" like me - I almost cried in the room!!

I have my glucose test at TSY next week - thats the worst thing about Queen Mary that we all have to do it even if there is no sugar in our urine!! Oh well at least the baby is ok!! Nicolejoy - this means you and I may be at QMH around the same time!! How mad would that be!!

The heat is also killing me and my little boy wakes up at 5am every day and breakdances in my womb - its quite painful actually and I feel exhausted!! Oh well - it will all be worth it in the end!!!

I FINALLY had my due date confirmed - 26 October is back on - they kept changing my dates but finally the doctor told me last week that my 12 week scan is ALWAYS the most accurate and I should ignore all the nurses haa - nice to know!!

My due date is Oct 28 - so maybe we will end up with "twins" ;) I'd love to be a few days early... or even a week or two - just not so early that the baby is less healthy!!

My glucose test is actually in about 4 weeks or so (end of August) because the date I wanted was already full.

kharel- i am so glad to hear that someone put on as much weight as i did. i have gained 11 kg. but my docto always gives me that look, saying you eat too much.

Hi everyone,

I have gained about 13 kg and the doctor said it is alot. Oh well, I just hope I will be able to get rid off it once the baby is born.... The first time the first 10 shed off really quickly but the extra 4 kg took a longtime......

Had to have the Glucose test last week.. urghhh really a pain. Bring lots of water to get rid off this sweet taste... never drank sth so sweet in my life.

does anyone have big feet? i have so much water in my legst, that it almost hurts. I already sleep with the legs up, but when i get up in the morning i can hardly notice a difference. any suggestions what i can do? i have another doctors appintment on monday, so maybe he can give me something. but i already take tons of pills and don't really want to take more. would be good to have other alternatives.

You poor thing, the disappearing ankle thing really sucks. I know someone who wore DVT socks (the socks for airplane travel) for the last 10 weeks of her pregnancy. I don't think she really enjoyed the experience as the socks are very thick and pretty hard to get on and off but her ankles were far less swollen. You'd probably want to chat to your doc about that though. I think movement is supposed to help to keep the fluid flowing but not necessarily upright movement. I find yoga helps.

hey ladies

Just reading your discussion about weight....

I am due Jan 3rd and so far (20 wks) I have added about 6-7 kilos, depending on what I read this is too much or normal (for my height.)

Actually with my 1st I gained 27 kilos overall (baby was 4.5kgs and 9 days late) the great news for all of us is regardless of how much we gain we can lose it all afterwards. Yes, every last kilo of my 27 came off (ok, ok, so admittedly it did take 2 years :-).

My theory is that if I am sensible my body will naturally take on as much weight as it needs (but my fingers are crossed its not 27 again).

Of course this regardless of common sense this doesnt stop me occasionally admiring the beautifully slim Asian ladies that barely seem to change clothing size....

See most of you tonight.

Thanks!! You're awesome!! Don't worry about it taking a while, you're pregnant - that's a good excuse right??

I've suddenly gotten SO SLEEPY the past couple of weeks - I never have any energy!! My 2nd trimester, I had so much energy - I was loving it!! At least I'm not in pain or majorly uncomfortable yet though... although my back is starting to get sore, particularly in the evenings!!

I've got soooo many things on at the moment - different doctors appts and antenatal classes and stuff - it's just gotten crazy all of a sudden!!

I'm 31 weeks tomorrow!!
