Due mid-December 2010

Hi ladies

Hope you are all enjoying a bit of down time over the long weekend. Friday 23rd works for me - again, I'm free in the morning or the afternoon.

X

I think you can book a table at Jaspas, doesn't matter if it's at the same time as the lunch time rush. I won't be able to join on Friday though, maybe next time! :)

Cool, I'll mark the 23rd on my calendar then--anytime in the morning or afternoon (done before 3 pm) would be great. I don't know anything about Central or any of the places there (I live waaaay out in New Territories West) so I'll just leave it up to someone who does to book and let me know when and where, okay? Also, please let me know what the price range for a meal is etc., okay?

I am not familiar with Jaspas but I was reading reviews at OpenRice and so far Jaspas is good for food but really poor on service.

??? American ?? Pizza ??? Western Restaurant Jaspas Restaurant ??? - ???? - Hong Kong Restaurants Guide HK Restaurant

Also, the price range seems a bit high for me. Hate to be a stick in the mud, though but my price range for lunch is in the 70 HKD and below area. The food looks beautiful, though (and I'm sure that's why the price is higher).

What are your ladies' experiences here?

Oct-Dec due date catch up

I'm off now for easter break, so I will check this post out on my return. I am happy for Jaspers. I have only been there for lunch, so cannot comment so much on morning tea prices. The menu is pretty vast, typical cafe style menu, not super, but caters to the majority! Also, a space that can accomodate a larger group.
So prehaps if everyone wants to post if they can attend or not, then we can make a booking that week?
Look forward to meeting everyone!

It's great to see that you're all keen to meet!

For me, both days work fine and it doesn't matter if morning or afternoon.
I'm also flexible with the venue, as long as I can find its location on Google Maps, it's totally fine for me;-)

Looking forward to meeting you all soon and yes, let's talk about pilates/yoga then!

Hi all, am due Mid November . . . first baby! Still in the mode of keeping things very VERY quiet, especially from our families. It would be lovely to meet all you ladies, both dates work for me as currently I'm not working. If I can make a suggestion, perhaps we can find a venue that can suit all our budgets as I noticed earlier on in the thread someone is traveling from NT and cant afford the prices at Jaspas. I know there are lovely lunch sets around town perhaps we can aim to go to one of these that are located more Centrally?

Looking forward to meeting all you ladies!! :)

Welcome, Steffort and congrats on your first pregnancy! Thanks for the suggestion of a place that fits the lower budgets. If everyone still decides on Jaspas, I'll probably just order a drink or something which is fine. I just want to meet up with everyone--that's the point for me. I've vowed to be a good girl and really try to keep to our budget which is pretty important right now with a new little one to be thinking about.

Ok great, looking forward to meeting everyone. Let me know what dates is decided and I'll be there :) Happy Easter everyone!!

I'd like to suggest somewhere that suits all budgets but I am new in town and have *no idea* But I am definitely free and keen on the 23rd so please count me in.
What are we going to eat? Coffee, goats cheese, wine, poached eggs... I am missing it all. And no morning sickness to speak of, so I think I am already getting a tummy. My boobs are looking more rounded too so I am not complaining!
Hope everyone's pregnancy is going well so far.
Steffort - congrats on the great news! I think a few of us are keeping it quiet for the time being so it will be good to be able to meet people in the same boat.
It seems like a long time till the 12-week mark at the moment - it is my mum's birthday tomorrow and I would love to tell her the good news, but I am going to wait a bit longer.

I won't be here back from our hols until the 24th.
Just wondering - why not, instead of meeting up in Jaspa's just meet up in Starbucks? The one in D'Aguilar Street is friendly for people with and without bubs and those who want to eat, can. Or you could meet on the roof of the IFC shopping mall, weather permitting. Seating is free and everyone can just bring what they like. I recommend the sushi from CitySuper (don't say you cannot eat raw fish, my Japanese friend said that in Japan it's perfectly ok to eat it during pregnancy, she even had a craving for the salmon - I can't blame her! - yummy! I ate it during my first pregnancy too... :) ) - Just a thought.

I'd love to come to the next gathering when we can all compare first ultrasound pictures!

B.t.w., we had our first bub using the Government Antenatal service and I can only recommend it.

Yes, I was going to suggest top of IFC too... Or Mix? (also in IFC) - depends how many ppl are going... and will need to get there way before lunch hour to get a nice table.

Dear Ladies

Yesterday, I was hospitalized and spent the night in the hospital because of spotting that became more like bleeding. Just came home. Still checking to see if we're dealing with an ectopic pregnancy. I am/was 7 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I go back for another check in 48 hours to see if my HCG levels are going up or down. They couldn't find anything conclusive on the two internal ultrasound scans that were done. So far, the signs point to the probability that I have either had a miscarriage or am having one soon. So, it's been a tough couple of days but God has been near to me the entire time and I'm blessed to have a loving and dependable husband and family who take good care of me. Got my first real taste of public hospital life which was interesting.

For this reason, I am sorry to say but I will have to drop out of this due date club. I wish you all the very best with your pregnancies. Feel free to stay in contact with me through this site or e mail and if you need anything that I can help out with, let me know.

Enjoy your upcoming gathering.

Pondering, I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through right now! My prayers and thoughts are with you! *big hugs*

Dear Pondering, So sorry to hear about what has happened. I wish you all the strength and courage you need to get through this difficult time.

A question ladies, how do you handle a husband coming home at 4am on a Friday night fully knowing your pregnant and probably aren't going to enjoy it. I had a horrible time tonight waiting for him to return, it was simply put awful! Then we fought. Ughhh . . . is this all hormones or what? I find myself unable to sleep now . . .

I guess the thing to ask is, if/when he's done this before, how did you feel about it? I think hormones do have a large part to do with it. I found myself very teary when I was pregnant with my first etc etc...

I think you are right, hormones indeed! oh dear!

Anyhows, ladys not long now till we meet and looking forward to doin so. Did we finalize a venue and time?

:)

Hello ladies, nice to see that there are many of you who are in the same boat as me. I am due mid December with our very first baby. It's very exciting and daunting at the same time.
Struggling to find a good doctor. Any recommendations?
Would love to meet up.
