Keep an eye out for sales, bumps to babes usually has a big one now & then.
I have most stuff already, will buy a portacot but not till closer to the time
I haven't bought much as it is still early but 100% agree to wait for the big sale. Didn't get much in the expo this past weekend. Anyone know when is the next big sale?
This is nice to have. You can get it for $4xx at Pricerite (or an even bigger one for $9xx). My sister in law puts all the baby's bottles and toys in there once they are sterilized, ready for use. It's got an antibacterial and dehumidifying function.
AprilBuddy2014 - where do you get this and how much?
"1. Cocoonababy -- recommended by a mommy as it helps baby sleep better and longer. It can also help avoid flat head."
Hi Polly, yes only use for 3 months. I had a mommy highly recommend it as it helped her 2 sons sleep so much better during first few months which saved the parents' lives. . The nest is made to help the baby sleep in a position as he is still in the mother's belly. . Hope it is worth the investment.
I wanted to share that some items are much cheaper in the states. Eg, I recently bought the medela freestyle for US$280 online at babies-r-us US site (there's a 20% promotion now). Of course you would have to take into account shipping if you don't have any one in US to bring over for you.
Similarly, I found my car seat (I got a chicco nextfit) cheaper in the states too.
AprilBuddy2014, thanks to share the info and will go and check that out, yes if money can buy peace and a long night sleep, it's worth to put the investment
Breaking news!!
Just got email... Bumps to Babes is having a big sale, up to 50% off - both in the Pedder St store & Horizon Plaza store in Ap Lei Chau. Happy shopping!!
I know a mum who used one, but I never bothered. For the first couple of months I used cotton pads in warm water. It was recommended not to use commercial wipes on baby's skin for the first little while, and if you use cotton you've soaked yourself, it's better to have fresh warm water rather than the same water sitting there heating.
@Aprilbuddy, my friend has one and she says as soon as you take the wipe out of the container it cools off, so no point. I agree with k.kong, it's best to use cotton wipes with warm water, don't get the packaged wipes. friend's recommendation.
