April 2011 Moms

I have a question for you ladies, how good or bad is it to travel in your 2nd trimester? Say one of those long flights 10 hrs or so?

i have been feeling flutters a few times and they all happened after dinner, i guess my bub loves eating~
stella: i asked my ob regarding long haul flight and he said as long as i have enough "exercise" on the plane i should be ok...and i will need to wear the "pressure socks" to avoid getting bloated on my leg.

sstella - are you suggesting Wednesday, Nov 10? that is fine with me. banane76 please let us know if it works for you, though i'm guessing wednesdays for you in general. i really do think we should meet already!

babyblue - i also feel the popping and fluttering mostly after dinner!

Hi Sstella - I think travelling in your second trimester is fine; we flew to Sydney last Saturday and will be flying back this Sunday. I had no issues whatsoever, I felt fine and ate constantly on the plane haha.
Wed 10th is fine for us (me & my daughter, who is 16 mths) as we get back from Thailand on the 6th of November.
It will be great to meet you all.

Nov. 10 is all good:) I usually work til 230 on Wednesdays but can meet you guys afterwards. I had to take some weekday leave as my mom has been away, but she'll be back by then so I'll be baby free I think :) I travelled last time in the 2nd trimester, and it was ok...seat not the most comfy but just get up often and hydrate. We're going to the UK for xmas so it should be fun :)

Great, we have 4 people confirmed then for Wednesday Nov. 10, assuming sstella can make it. Shall we say around 3pm or later? Anytime is cool with me. Hope more people will join!

i believe we have decided the next meeting is on Wednesday, Nov 10 at around 3pm. It will be in Central but we haven't picked a place yet. Banane76 - you had suggested a place last time, what was it again and shall we just go with that?

Thanks everyone on the travel advise. I guess i should be fine, the pressure socks is a great idea.
One more question: Where are you guys getting your bras in HK? I can't wear underwire and need something with a lot of support!
Wednesday November 10 at 3pm works for me! See you all there!!! :))

sstella, i got my my maternity bras at Bumps to Babe in Central. so glad you can make it on Nov 10, now we just need to pick a place!

Hey everyone, I can't remember what places I suggested, but if we want to meet in Central, there are a few places. Antique on Lyndhurst terrace is quite nice, they have yummy scones and tea. There's always Starbucks...a big on in Alexandra House...if you're in the mood for smoothies, we can go the Mix on Hollywood road, or in IFC, there is Simply Life. Whatever is easier for everyone.

Thanks Mariac.
Banane: I think either starbucks or simply life works. Both are very central locations. If the weather is good we can do rooftop where Red restaurant is.

Yummy scones and tea sounds nice as well as rooftop. Any of these locations are good for me though. Perhaps not Starbucks though since they never have any seats free.

Hello ladies,
I am new to this group. Im due April 17th.
Looks like you are all meeting up on the 10th November. Great.
Unfortunately Im working and not able to make it during the week. however, do any of you fancy meeting during a weekend?
Also i noticed that some of you are expecting the second one, I got a 14 month old daughter, let me know if any of you have similar ageed kids and we could met up for a coffee / playdate /"bumb talk"...

ladies, this is a question to all of you. have any of you been experiencing gas cramps/acidity etc? if so, what do you do for it, if anything? do you take any meds? is it safe? my doctor has said that taking a mild antacid is ok but i feel hesitant. i've heard from some women that tums are safe but i don't see any tums in the pharmacies here. any insight any of you might have will be great to hear! thanks!

See you all at IFC on Wed...if it rains, maybe we could do Simply life just as an alternative. Mariac-I had some gas pain today and just hoped it would pass which it did. I think last time I really relied on the ginger tea to help with any stomach/nausea issue.

See you on wednesday ladies!
Mariac - I have been taking Maalox tablets. Tums isn't available here, so I was thinking of getting a bottle shipped from the US, along with a few other maternity stuff.

Btw .. are you ladies registered with the hospitals here in HK? I am on a waitlist.
