Yue Sao / Midwife

Hi,

We are considering to hire a traditional Yue Sao to help us for about one month after delivery. Given that i am the western part of the couple, did anyone hire a Yue Sao into a mixed cultural marriage?

I am assuming that a Yue Sao has quite some strong views about what's right and wrong to do, which possibly might sometimes go against the western 'insights'. Any experiences or tips to share?

Thanks for help

Is a "Yue Sao" the same as a "Pui Yuet"?

I think it depends on if you are lucky or not. If you happen to hire a stubborn one, probably you will find her annoying, specially if you are not much into Chinese traditions.

But I guess that, if you happen to find one that speak english, probably she would be more open to western culture, and would not bother you too much on what you should and shouldn't do.

My pui yuet was not stubborn at all and very flexible. I agree with Gataloca - you just need to find one that is more openminded.

thanks for feedback! yes yue sao is indeed pui yuet.

so do english speaking ones exist at all? any tips where to look for them to get a bit more options?
