had the scan today...
doctor says, "pretty sure" i'm having a GIRLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!

WOO HOOOOOO!!!!
(don't get me wrong, i love my son to death! just excited i'm going to have one of each... i always thought i'd only have boys!!!)

Congrats! Always nice when things you have no control over work out.
Have you started shopping for the outfits yet? Seems the stores (in the US anyway) always have more and better (cuter) things for baby girls than boys.

nope... not a thing... i'm hoping that i can recycle a lot of stuff from my son. but of course, i'm going to have to invest in some frilly girlie things too!

YIPEE!!! Was in Stanley this weekend and there are loads of pretty dresses.
:groupwave:

i was there last week and was very self controlled...didn't buy anything for either child, but only for me! it was nice for a change... have to head back though...

they had some lovely "very hungry caterpillar" onesies. i bought a couple for my son, and i think i'd like to get some new ones for the new one! it's going to be so much fun!!!

soooooo excited!

Found out the opposite yesterday (at only 12 weeks so it's only 80 per cent accurate). While I had a preference for a girl both my husband and I fell for the wriggling little baby boy on the ultrasound screen immediately.

I've seen those very hungry catepillar onsies - so cute! I've been on a self-imposed ban from buying anything baby related for the first trimester, but now...

CONGRATULATIONS, Cara! And it sounds that your pregnancy has been going well.

If you remember me, I had some awful experience with nausea and you have answered my enquiries!

I am now at week 16, and I should know the sex of my baby at the next scan. As this is my very first pregnancy, I do not have any expecations. The only thing I hope is to get the confirmation of the sex, so that I can start buying little clothes. There are some very cheap ones about in Mongkok and I remember one outlet if you want cheap brandname baby clothes!

Anyhow, keep very well and let us know your progress!

A Very Big Welcome to you Little Girl!

thanks anita,
the morning sickness is starting to ease off for me, although i still have days when i feel absolutely dreadful.

so far, only been in hopsital once. however, they are still very concerned abotu my BP. so, i'm monitoring it at home. i'm under strict instructions that if it gets to a certain point, i must go directly to admit myself to hospital again. i've gotten very close to that point, but haven't quite reached it yet. hopefully i won't get there until much later in my pregnancy.

good luck with your little one!

Hi Cara,

Well....it does sound "challenging". But I have full confidence in you and the medical facility in Hong Kong. Just be more careful and take it easy.

Anita

Hi Pinemarten,

If you go to Fa Yuen Street (Prince Edward MTR Exit B), you should find a lot of cheapies.

As for the outlet, I have the address at home. Let me write back later tonight or tomorrow.

I am at four months now and it's my first prenancy. How about you?

Fancy going there together? A friend of mine, Indonesian expat, is also very interested in exploring Mongkok/ Prince Edward. Feel free to give me a shout!

Cheers,

Anita

Pinemarten, I think I met you last Thursday! Well...then let me bring the addresses to you at our gathering. You are still up for it? I will leave early tomorrow, but definitely will be there for a chat at 6:30pm.

Cheers, Anita

i may try to come on thursday this week... problem is i'd like to bring my son and he's usually getting ready fro bed aroudn 7... we'll see how it works out tomorrow...

thanks for all the good wishes folks!

Congrats Cara - I am also dealing with high blood pressure so know we need to be careful. I am on Lantau as well, so maybe we can get together for shopping and chatting sometime. :)

AnitaC -
please post the baby outlet address as I probably need to start shopping soon, havent bought anything yet and this is my first. thanks muchly. :)

Anita, thanks for the offer to bring the address along! I will prob go with my husband on the weekend though, I want to harness his (no doubt temporary) enthusiasm about buying baby clothes!

Congratulations!!

Hey, congratulations to both of you! First sex indications for our Thursday group! I am a little jealous as last week doctor didnt want to tell us what it was (at 12.5 weeks) so I will have to wait until..... end October now! Snif! Snif! We call it Jumper as he/she wouldn't stop jumping on u/s.
See you soon happy moms to be!

Eliza - Don't worry. 4 more weeks your doctor should be able to tell you the sex of your baby. Keep us posted girl!

Cara and Pinemarten - No worries. I will bring the addresses and the maps for you girls! See you tomorrow.

Jaetee - Will post the addresses on the web tonight or tomorrow. Did you receive my email and Todd's email? We are expeciting you call to deal with the corporate insurance stuff for you and husband.

If any of you want to have the addresses and the maps, but not able to meet up at our regular gatherings, please send me an email, and I could attach the maps, etc to you. [email protected]

Cheers,

Anitalookingfattereveryday

Well, I haven't pulled out the maps for the outlet, but I do have the addresses in English now. Here you go:

1. Chickeeduck and La Compagnie Des Petitis outlets/ sales are both at Tung Chung. They are both in that shopping centre outside the MTR station.

2. Baby Outlet sell cheaper clothes and a range of other products. They ar at:

Room 602B, 6/F, Causeway Bay Commercial Building, 1-13 Sugar Street, Causeway Bay. MTR Exit E
and
Room 1801, 38 Plaza, 38 Shan Tung Street, Mongkok, Kowloon. MTR Exit E1

They have a very cute dressing gown (for after bath) in towel material for new born discounted at HKD$65.

3. Bumps to Babes look even cheaper and definitely bigger with lots of other stuff for babies.
They are at the factory area in Hong Kong, so it is not very well known.

Units 14-18, 21/F, Horizon Plaza, 2 Lee Wing Street, Ap Lei Chau, Hong Kong.

Also, if you are interested in getting cheap stuff for yourself and your baby, I highly recommend you to visit "Fa Yuen Street" at Prince Edward (MTR Exit B).

You can find the maps on http://www.centamap.com by typing the road or the building on the website. Good luck!

Cheers,

Anita
