Woodland Wanchai, my concern

Hi, I am currently thinking of enrolling my 2.9 years old daughter into Woodland Wanchai.

She has been attending local stream English kindergarten, but Woodland fee is much more expensive.

I think most of the students are expatriates, actually me the same.

Although my husband is expat and pay for the school fee, i am also working since i like working.
This is a little bit concern for me since i have less time to visit or attend the events.

Another concern is we are Asian, and i heard that many students here are from Western coutries. I am not sure if my daughter can be wholy accpeted, and adopt herself to the new environment (since she is smaller than average, i think she is too small compared to western people).

Can anyone clear up my concerns?

I wouldn't worry that she won't be accepted. Kids that young aren't interested in how others look, what size they are. It's only later that kids can become mean though i hardly think girls are teased for being small. Boys on the other hand often are. As for being Asian, we live in Asia, what's the big deal?

are you concerned that you can't afford it? or that you can't attend "events"?

they are completely different problems. if it is money that concerns you then you need to decide if you can afford it or not. no one here can help you with that decision. if it is whether you can attend events, then that will be a problem no matter which school you choose, if you are working.

and i agree with the above regarding being asian...i've taught at many playgroups and kindergartens... i have NEVER heard of a child being made fun of because they are asian...so i wouldn't worry about that!

Thanks for the comments. I really appreciate all of them.
I can afford it, so my concern was only about the nationalities and some related matters.
However, I got confidence by reading your comments, and I am now willing to send my daughter to this school.
Thanks very much!

Hi there

My daughter went to the Wan Chai Woodlands summer school and she had a great time.

Your little one would go into the class my daughter would have been in and it is a total multi cultural mix of kids - UK, Canadian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese etc

The only reason we pulled our daughter out is because we felt the fees were a little bit high, but if they are being paid for I would recommend the school highly!

xx
