Will a result of blood allergy test be changed later?

Hi, Does anyone have allegy test for your children?
I wonder if their result will be changed after? or would be going to nothing allergy for anything?
He(3years) had high score for wheat when he got blood test around 5 months, but I want to make sure if he is really sensitive to wheat now, or the result would not be changed for ever? Can anyone advice me the place to check blood allergy test in HongKong.
 
Histamin, I'm not sure I understand your question completely, but my interepretation is that you're asking if your son will have outgrown his wheat allergy that he tested positive to 5 months ago?

If that is your question, then yes, most kids do outgrow allergies, ie my son tested very high on eggs (10+), peanut, wheat, barley, & others when he was 8 months old, however, he is now 2 and is able to eat eggs, wheat (all breads), etc. The one allergy that I will not mess with is peanut allergy, as the reaction could be fatal, so my son's diet will have to be without nuts (including chocolates or anything that have traces of nuts) for a while.

Why do I want to now this question, because he has eczema, though he has tested when he was still small that shows he has wheat allergy, he can eat breads and other wheat products now,so should I reduce these foods if I consider to get rid of his eczema.
Acutually I thought it's strange why did he develp serious eczema that it's started from 5months on his face even if I'd never fed him some wheat products (I didn't know it will transmit him through my breastmilk), so I didn't believe he has wheat allergy at all before.
Should I take him to blood test again or does anyone know what do I know there is some allergy sings to particular foods.
 
Histamin. Instead of a blood test, if you honestly believe that wheat is causing his eczema to worsen, then try to withhold it to see if it helps. But you have to understand that the Wheat did not cause the eczema to exist, it could however be a trigger to worsen it. My son has had eczema since he was 2 WEEKS old, so I understand your concern, I've been to allergy specialists & dermatologists for his condition, and it has been hit and miss with what medications work, so perhaps that is another angle you need to look at aside from just his food.

Histamin, my son's original diagnosis were all done overseas. However, we currently go to a dermatologist in Admiralty right now, Dr. Ku., he's with Quality Healthcare. As for information about eczema, aside from your doctor, search the net or even "special interest" sites, like the medicine manufacturers (they try to sell you their medicine, but does contain information that is worthwhile). Hope this helps.

One thing about allergy blood tests, as our doctor told us, is that they are at best 80% accurate.

My son tested negative for soy, but we know for sure that he is allergic - it gives him eczema. Cut it out and he's fine. Perhaps you could try cutting out wheat for 2 weeks to see if the eczema re-appears for your son. There are wheat-free spaghett / macaroni / bread and cereal, and of course rice and potatoes. (Note frying batter has flour.) Let me know if you need more info.

If his eczema comes back, then it could be something else. My son's developed a new allergy to gluten (the protein in wheat/barley/oats/rye) at 30 months old. Suddenly he started having major headaches and became so tired that he couldn't even remain seated for 10 mins. He'd have classic signs of allergy though - black rings under his eye and red ring around his anus. This went on for 2 months while we desperately tried to find out what was wrong, as we were already soy-free.

We tested him but it was NEGATIVE for (soy)wheat/barley/rye/oats, and positive for gluten !! So much for contraductory results. In the end, we cut out gluten and he was back to his old self. We tried a bit of bread one month later and had 4 days of hell again before it passed.

It may sound frustrating, but a simple food diary has really helped us identify the culprit. (We gave him similar foods for a couple of days, then switched to other things.) We are now gluten-free for more than 6 months and it's easier than we thought. We plan to re-introduce wheat again after a year or so, to see if he has outgrown it.

Hope it gets better for your little one too.
