Hello, mothers and Fathers!

I am father of 2 years son. Together with my wife and my 2years son, I will move to HK from 2010/07/01.

We need to find nursery to take care my son for whole-day or at least 6 hours from Mon-Fri since both of his parents work.

Does anyone know nursery offering such proglam for 2 years?
(he will be 27 months in 2010/07)

Our office is in central so, Kowloon station or stations bearby central will be possible area for living. We find Deborah Internation in HungHom, but it is little far away from our office, central.

Really need your advise. Thank you.

Dear All

At this moment, we have only one option, Deborah International.
We would like to have some more option to visit/interview.

Does someone advise us if there is nursery for 2years kid in Kowloon or stations nearby central station in hong kong island?

take-chan,

There are in fact quite a number of international kindergartens offering whole day classes for 2 yr old kids. You may click "Articles" at the top of this website, choose "Education" where you will find two list of schools (one for Kowloon side and the other for HK Island) offering Pre-nursery classes for 2 yr old kids.

For your information, some of the kindergartens are very popular and there is a long waiting list. I would suggest you contacting them now to see if there is any vacancy for your son in the coming September.

Hope the above information helps!

Tami, thank you very much for your post.
Yes, I have cheked the lists. The lists helps us a lot.

Most kindergarden/nursery offering from 2 years and 8 months.
A few of them offeres for 24 months whole day session.
I have contacted several, only one avilability is Deborah at this moment.

We would like to have one or two more options,
since we will visit HK in the end of this month and visit kindergardens to have inteviews.

I live in Hung Hom area and notice quite a lot of japanese kids go to Deborah. If you can't find any, you may consider sending your boy to Deborah for the moment and apply for other better kindergartens when you are here.

Would you consider getting a domestic helper to look after your son in your own home while you are at work?

Daycare for a very young child is not always the optimal approach and in HK it is fortunate that hiring a live in primary care giver is an affordable option (comparable to full time daycare costs if you can find it). You could supplement with daily play groups to ensure your son is exposed socially to others kids.

Daycare is the norm where I come from but that is only because a 'nanny' is generally unaffordable. A helper is definitely worth thinking about, even though it can be foreign to the approach where you are from.

Have you tried Tutor Time? It's bilingual. My son went to the one on southside and loved it. I know there is one on Kowloon side.

hi and thank you very much for your info, Southside852
:milestone

We will ask Tutor Time if there is avilability for whole day session.
