Which pan safe for cooking baby food in

Hi,
I'm quite confused as to what kind of pan is safe to cook baby food in. I know that non-stick pans are not, and my 'what to expect' book says not to use aluminium or copper pans either. So what's ok? Stainless steel? or the stovetop corning-ware dishes? All advice appreciated!

Thanks!

Gosh I never heard that certain pans are not safe. I used any old pan for my children, why not non-stick?

well, apparently non-stick pans give off toxic fumes at high temperatures. Aluminium pans release small amounts of aluminium if acidic food (like tomatoes) are cooked in them, and apparently copper pots 'destroy' vitamin C.

You are quite write to avoid non-stick & aluminium! I use stainless steel pans which are perfectly safe. Another option is glass/pyrex saucepans, I think they sell them in Wing-on? ( And avoid non-stick in the oven as well, use glass / pyrex to roast / bake).

Try Le Cresuset. http://www.lecreuset.com/ They are the well known French cookware. I got some from the US since I read about the toxic materials in regular pans before. I love LEC product tho they are quite heavy and hot! I use the Petite Casserole 8 oz to cook congee for my daughter every day. I love it! don't think they sell them in HK, but you can get them when you are in the US or Europe or try amazon.com, but shipment will be expensive tho.
