Have been breastfeeding my baby for 8 months now. I need to introduce infant formula milk , coz it becomes really difficult when going out with her. Would be traveling in the coming days, where finding a place to BF would be really difficult ( even with a stole covering me..or a nursing cover ). I tried giving her Enfamil A+ which she refused and cries profusely after having . I bought Nature's Formula milk from Bumps to babes...but even that she won't take. Could you suggest any formula milk which is close to breast milk ? Please Help..!!!

Both of my babies liked HIPP organic. They've also drank Aptamil from Bumps and Friso. They're not very fussy, though. Try Hipp...it's one of the less "stinky" formulas. Good on ya for breastfeeding for 8 months though! I would also try introducing it ounce by ounce mixed into your breast milk. That's how we introduced formula. Start with one ounce, and so on.

they say Goats milk closely resembles breast milk. IMI has a brand available which is also carried in Eugene Club. Buy a small can and give it a shot.

Hi,

You can try Nestle Nan H.A. formula milk. I saw a private paediatrician when my son was 3 months old and he recommended it to me. I have always substituted a bit of formula milk with breastfeeding for him. It is a partially digested formula so very close to breast milk.

He started off on Enfamil as well, but the hospital told me it wasn't the best formula and Cow & Gate was better. I will never use Cow & Gate again though as most babies I know who are on it just throw up all the time after drinking it. My son did that as well. He has had no side effects and has never thrown up on Nestle Nan H.A. I've heard SMA is good too but you can only get it in the UK or Bumps to Babes in HK I think.

Good luck!

Just for the record, my kids drink Cow and Gate and have no problems. And my son did have reflux problems...but while breastfeeding, not when we started introducing formula at 4 months. We picked Cow and Gate because that's what he was once cup-fed at the public hospital I delivered at. The Hospital Authority's position is that they rotate formula brands because there is no real difference between them, which I believe to be true although individual babies will have their own preferences so one may have to try different brands to suit a baby's taste.

Nestle Nan Ha and Cow and Gate Pepti Junior are hypoallergenic/for special medical reasons and may suit babies who are having problems adjusting to regular formula.

I also use cow and gate as it was what was given to my son at the public hospital. I like it as its from NZ.

My child is having a very serious constipation problem, Im so worry!! He has been constipating for more than 2 weeks. Mums, do you have any formula to recomem to prevent constipation*??

I use Aptamil as when we travel back to UK we came easily find it there...
Tiny Footprints on 1 Duddell Street order it in for you if you need!

If you are travelling a lot or out an about a lot, try a formula that has a Ready to Drink version (Aptamil, Hipp, SMA) . Easy when you are out and about (or travelling long distances or plane journeys.

You might want to visit dr if he hasnt passed stools in 2 weeks. As for formula, we use Nestle Nanpro 2. Our bub is also eating a meal of veges and fruit couple of times a day so that helps with easier stools.

ApaGuna, a lot of traditional remedies are not really working nowadays and it is harm to your kids too. my aunt suggest me to use one of the traditional remedies for my son and it is not working. After that, the situation is getting worst then I brought him to the hospital. Do remember that seek for those proper remedies which is proven because those unproven remedies is really dangerous.

u can try using Mamil bcos I was facing the same prob previously, my DD also had constipation, in fact it was very bad. Then I somehow managed to found out that Mamil has prebiotic that can prevent children constipation in long term and besides that, Mamil also has no sucrose and highest DHA level in the market now.. u can see the results within a week definitely..

My DS have the same problem before, but my neighbour suggested me to change to Mamil. Well, no more constipation at the moment already!!! Hope it will help u as well.

Formula milk: Similac Advance, it is the only one (also amongs organic options) that does not have palm oil which inhibit calcium absortion.

Constipation: Chamomile water, no more than 60ml per day according to my family doctor, either in the bottle mix or in between feedings. I always start with 30ml first because always works as a charm in less than 30 minutes. Just once I needed a second 30ml dose. Safe in babies younger than 6 months (my baby had her first constipaton episode at 2 month old testing Enfamil Gentle Care...). Also works very well for gas and fussiness as to soak/clean baby girls private parts.

Hope to help.

Cheers!
