Which detergent?

As the big day gets closer I am starting to get things ready and will soon be looking at washing all of baby's clothes, blankets etc. I have seen different kinds of detergents at the baby shops and even in the supermarkets, and was wondering, what should I use?! What should I be looking for/ or not in a detergent?

Any input would be much appreciated as I am clueless in this department. Thanks!

We just use our regular washing powder for baby clothes. I would try that first and only bother with specialist ones if there is some need to...

We used Purity Sensitive from Park n Shop. I think it's Australian? You can also use it for cloth nappies.

I also use Purity from PNS. I'm nearly done the 2nd bottle and at 5 months, I think it's ok to combine the clothes with everyone elses. as someone already said, it's hard to make up a load of all those tiny little clothes. I just did it just in case. With my son I previously bought a box of Pigeon brand powder. Lasted forever, far too long. I think up to 6 months, even before then if your baby is not sensitive is just fine. Why not play it safe. I do have to say that I LOVE doing my baby's laundry and hanging up all the tiny beautiful clothing. Sigh:)

I use 7th generation which is fragrance free and organic. It is the only detergent that is gentle enough for my baby's ezema prone skin. It's at the three sixty grocery stores.

we used Napisan... bub had eczema and this one worked for us. We moved to our normal detergent when he was about a year old.

Thank you all for your replies. Baby has potential of having skin issues so I guess non bio might be the way to go at first to avoid any dramas.

To be honest, I'm not even sure of what's in the one we buy as it's in Japanese. When I came here I tried to figure out what was what but it was either Chinese or Japanese so I picked a liquid one and stuck with it. Now I'm wondering if it's a good one to use...
