Where to stay in Singapore?

I am taking my 9-mth old baby to Singapore for 5 days. Any baby friendly accomodation that you can recommend? I wanted to find a service apartment but they all need to stay for 7 nights minimum. Please help!!!!
 
Four Seasons is nice if you are with kids. The room was spacious with a huge bathroom. It is within walking distance to Orchard Road (main shopping district) but is situated in a quieter area behind the main road. They even provided pool toys for my kids! Would definitely stay there again next time.
 
Thanks - I dont have any particular requirements. Just somewhere convenient and baby friendly... and not too pricey! My parents will be going so I will have to pay for their accomodation as well.

Is it too inconvenient to stay on sentosa island?
 
Sentosa used to be abit out of the place but not anymore cos a huge shopping mall is just at it's doorstep... VIVO city. It is the biggest mall in Singapore and houses many new brands like GAP and more recently Banana Republic. There is a MTR station there too so pretty convenient to go eslewhere from there.

Sorry as I am not able to advise on cheap and good hotels as being a Singaporean, I normally bunk in with my parents or stay at hubby's corporate hotel at fullerton or Ritz for a night or two.
 
That sounds exciting so is it just next to Sentosa Island?? Maybe it is worth staying there then... since I don't think I will need to go to Orchard Road everyday and can chill out at Sentosa and be able to go to Vivo for daily meals etc...
 
yes, sentosa island is much convenient now, with the Vivo city shopping mall and train station. There is also things to do within sentosa island, and some hotels within the island offer spa packages too! if you have more time, can also bring your baby to the Singapore Zoo, a good place to bring kids as well!

We stayed at the Pan Pacific, next to Marina Square, the last time we were there. Quite convenient in that it's right next to the mall and a short cab ride to Sentosa. Not exactly the poshest (compared to the Ritz or the Raffles), but for the price and the convenience, no complaints.

Easy to get from Sentosa to the other sites of Singapore (without a car)? Places like the airport, Orchard Road and the Colonial district, etc...
 
Thanks for all the super suggestions so far. Wondering, if it's just a 2 day/1 night transit stop on the way to somewhere - is it still realistic to take bub to the Singapore zoo (say on a Sunday afternoon) or does one need a whole day at the zoo.

If that's the only thing we'll do then where is good to stay -any recommendations that are close to zoo? Thanks!

Singapore Zoo is located far North on the island, and there isnt any hotel located nearby. However, you can commute by taxis to almost everywhere and the travelling time (provided there isnt any traffic jam) is not too long. if u first time there, u might spend more than half a day walking ard in the zoo.

Places like airport, orchard road, etc can be reached using the train (MRT) , so can be very convenient if you staying near a train station.
 
Oh I see! Thanks Chubbysan, that is helpful. So I think we will stick to downtown and see some friends and just hang out since we only have one full day.

Any suggestions on how to spend a day in Singapore with a little one? Is it as hot/humid as Hong Kong is right now? Are there any indoor play centres that visitors can get into, or a good stroller friendly mall? Ideas please from all the Singaporean mums and dads!

I am not too sure how old your LO is but the zoo tends to be more appropriate for when they are a little older - my son's first visit at 18 months was a huge non-event, he loves animals and everything but didn't seem to be taken with anything at the zoo (maybe becos the environment was too natural?!?!)! We tried him again when he was 2 years 3 months and it was better....if you want something outdoorsy, easy to get to, stroller friendly and pleasant, I'd suggest the Botanical Gardens (opposite the American Embassy, Tanglin Road area, very near Orchard Road). It is a lovely big garden with different areas and lakes (feeding the ducks and fish - generally both babies and toddlers love that) and alot of it is shaded with giant trees if it gets too sunny.....there is also a lovely cafe or 2 there for having meals and even an airconditioned food court at the entrance if you'd like some local food - plenty of lvoely grass area to have a picnic too if you feel so inclined! And if LO protests or it gets too hot, you can leave quite easily by public transport, Orchard Road is about a brisk 10 min walk away....

yes Singapore can be like hong kong now, hot n humid. Is also abit wet now, strangely it is raining almost every day now. Yep, if this is the case, you might want to just spend your time at Orchard, catching up with your friends and at the same time, can do some shopping as well. You can try going Paragon Shopping mall, there is a play area on level 5 for kids, and a toy r us on level 6. hmm, otherwise marina square also a nice mall, newly renovated and big, plus there is another big shopping mall, Suntec City just next to it.
