Sorry sounds like an obvious question...but I really like my toddler to see some real animals like baby farm animals or others like the basic tiger, elephant etc.
Back at home, farm animals are accessible but here in HK any ideas??
Somewhere nearer to SaiKung, Tseung Kwan O will be prefect....
Thanks for any input!

Kadoorie farm has a few.
There are a few in the zoological & botanical gardens in central.

Only thing you are going to see in Sai Kung are wild. We live in the country park and we see these on a regular basis:
wild boar
snakes
porcupines
free-roaming cows/water buffalo
monkeys
dogs

I would say Ocean Park, or Hong Kong Wetland Park.

I don't know if there is any baby farm in Hong Kong... People here are pretty freak out of farm animal, like chicken and pigs. They even freak out about having wild birds (like pigeons) flying around.

There`s the HK zoological and botanical gardens on HK island. I have been wanting to take my son there as he is getting interested in animals. The website makes it sound a bit lame, in my opinion, but it might be ok for the tots.
I would loooove the go to a petting zoo. Those are so cool.

It depresses me to see animals in such small enclosures, sad and dispirited at the HK zoo. They should move the whole place to Sai Kung or any other bigger space in NT.

Don't expect much from HK Zoo.. The animals are mostly monkeys, lemurs, bird and turtles. I think there was a sloth as well last time I went.

Someone told me there is an animal park across the border in Shenzen though... anyone had experience with that?

My 4.5 year old son has weekly pay as you go "lead rein" classes and my 2.25 year old goes along to watch and hang-out. There is a long waiting list for individual and family membership, but if you can make week-day morning class, they can fit you as a pay as you go client.

We love it!

Lavender Garden - Fanling

This is on out to do list.

According to their website they have the following, "We have a turtle pond full of lively fish and turtles that you can feed. There are many different varieties of turtle, watch out for the Alligator Snapping Turtle, weighing in at over 15 kilogrammes. Maybe try fishing , you can catch and eat the fish in our garden. What could be fresher than that? We also have goats & koi carp that you can feed."
