Where to go in China

Hi, we would like to go on a family holiday to China. We would like to see more of the coutryside rather than Shanghai and Beijing. Any suggestions for kid friendly places?? I realise that this is a really broad question but I just don't know where to begin researching!
 
An easy and great trip from here is Guilin and Yangshuo. From SZ, it`s only about an hr flight. Totally beautiful, lots to see and do, tourist class convenience, inexpensive.
 
Chimelong is a good weekend fun. 3 year loved the circus and the zoo. They also have amusement park with kids only area.
 
I second Chimelong in Panyu, its so much fun. Very easy to get to. Less than 2 hours on the ferry. Chimelong Hotel is well organised and your child (children) will love the White Tigers and Snow Leopards. The circus, safari and amusement parks are fantastic.
 
We did Yangshuo and Guillin. It was lovely but it's a different experience with kids (our twins were not even 2 yet), although we had fun. We still plan to go to Xian this year.

I am going to check out Chimelong ... sounds good for a weekend!
