hello.

i would like to buy tea for my baby...but i don't know where to buy this in hong kong.

i hope that there exist some tea especially for babies here?

thank's in advance!

But tea has caffeine?? (Well except for the decaffeinated ones.) Are you sure you want to be giving that to a baby??

i am talking about BABY TEA.
normally it's a pouder...and no caffeine inside!
maybe it doesn't exist here in hk...that's why i'm asking.

i wouldn't give caffeine to "a" baby...and especially not to MY baby.

thank you gataloca four your advice and the link.
i was also talking about herbal teas for babies.

i read that these teas are suitable for babies for about 6month.
i started giving tea to my daughter when she was 1 month old because she had a lot of problems with digestion.

the doctor gave me this advice and in germany you can buy baby tea which is suitable for already one week old newborn babies.

i will ask my mum to send me some ;)

thank's again.

Melinasma, are these the kind of baby teas you can buy in Germany for colic: http://www.polishhypermarkets.com/en/fennel-tea-200g.html?

It is just fennel tea. You can find nice organic fennel tea bags in places like Citysuper, Marketplace, Taste, etc....

As for the article, the reason it says that tea is not suitable for baby under 6 month old, is because the extra water intake (tea, in this case) might reduce the amount of milk the baby might drink, and not because it might hurt the baby. ".... And regularly giving your baby tea to drink instead of milk feeds could affect her growth and weight gain. "

You can get roasted barley tea which is caffeine free, called mugicha in some of the shops here (Japanese brands). Citysuper carry it, and there is a baby food shop in the basement level of Cke shopping mall, adjacent (to the left of, as you look at it) to Chun King Mansions in TST. This one is a bit more friendly to the wallet than shopping at Citysuper!

We started this after 6 months when the baby was weaning... not instead of milk at 1 month

Thanks NewDad, this is actually what I was looking. Thanks for the direction too.

thank you new dad.
i will go there and see what they offer.

gataloca who said that i give my baby tea ISNTEAD of milk?
i never said that.
my girl drinks her milk very well...and the tea is only an extra.
she drinks water too.

i did not open the link...but yes you are right...i give her fennel tea.

melinasma, do you mean those 'kai nai cha' tea for babies? I'm pretty sure pharmacies carry them (Mannings, Watsons). A friend got me one a few months back, it's a green box with tea bags inside. She was recommending them to me for my daughter's eczema since it's supposed to be cooling. But reading the leaflet, I believe it's mainly for better digestion and increasing appetite. I ended up tossing it as my husband doesn't want our baby to take herbal meds, otherwise I could give you the exact brand name. But do check out the local pharmacies.

kakoak thank you.
yes please...could you tell me the name of this tea.
i will go to a pharmacie and ask for mor informations then.

You can buy that in Eu Yan Sang which is selling some Chinese herbs. They have special tea for newborn babies for degistion.
Hope it helps.

I didn't say that either. I was just explaining why the article says that tea is not suitable to babies younger than 6 month. Note that the line ".... And regularly giving your baby tea to drink instead of milk feeds could affect her growth and weight gain. " was quoted.. That line was from the article.
