Where to buy a bunk bed

Can anyone recommend somewhere to get a lovely bunk bed for children? The Ikea options don't do it for me, but I don't know where else to go...
Many thanks, Sarah

I always see bunk beds being advertised second hand in the Geoexpat or (the other) HK website in the furniture section, though I'm not sure if they are from IKEA or not. I know Direct Sales Centre has bunk beds too.

We have a beautiful one bought from Indigo. Really nice, quite expensive.

I'm sure our kids will have it for years and years. I think it costs about $18k all in, (ladder, safety rail on top etc) and foam mattresses. We bought one first, when our first boy turned 2 and only just bought the second bed to convert to bunk. First time we bought a really expensive mattress ($6k) but this time they told us you don't need to spend that amount until children hit 5 or so and are heavier.

I've heard that Tree in Horizon Plaza has also started selling a nice white bunk.

Indigo, Tree like aussiegal mentioned has a new kid line and also Jade Rattan has some pretty standard ones that can also be custom made to suit your needs.

Also, if you feel like an adventure. I've heard that the factories in Zhuhai will also custom make it for you. They apparently supply a lot of the stores in Horizon Plaza.

if money isn't an problem, there is a shop downstairs (same level as toys'r'us) that do custom-made beds... they have some uber-fancy beds. they have an awesome castle bed, the bed is up top and the lower part is wardrobe & desk... they have some really amazing beds. but they are very expensive, starting at about $20,000-$40,000!

Tree have just started kids furniture too. I saw their bunk beds today at the Horizon Plaza (Ap Lei Chau) store and now wish I hadn't just recently spent a small fortune on our ones from Indigo. definitely worth a look!

Also in this week's The List it features "budget makeovers" which also gives lists of furniture stores like the ones that are mentioned above.

Yes, the one in Harbour City that carang and babylicious talk about has some VERy nice and $$$$ ones. Bunks that are tree houses, princess towers and so on.

Rani - where is Zhuhai? It is close to Shenhzen and do they do other furniture also? Thanks
