Where can I learn HK/Guangdong cuisine?

try the english speaking members section of the YWCA? they have cooking classes and they also have some special cooking classes for helpers, but i don't think you would have to be a helper to attend those ones.... some of the dishes they learn look yummy!
 
Yeah I know the Towngas classes but they are pretty expensive. Will check out YWCA ones. But a lot of these classes are taught in English (by expats?) leading me to think whether the dishes are authentic. Are there Cantonese classes out there taught by ex-chef/ housewives/ ppl in the trade who are Hongkie?
 
well, that will make things much different... i'm sure there are loads of places around... but as someone who doesn't speak/read/write enough cantonese to get through a class, i can't offer any suggestions. sorry
 
While I have no problems communicating in English, I still prefer the Cantonese ones as I thought it will be more authentic. But I don't see any of these being advertised. Maybe I have so check out some Chinese sites/ papers.
 
maybe you'd have more luck looking on a local website such as baby-kingdom? asking on an english expat website might not offer you the most return....
