when is helper entitled to severance pay?

We have employed our helper for three years, so we are halfway through a contract. We are moving away from Hong Kong. I know she does not qualify for long service, but does she get severance? It is not clear to me if they get severance if they are dismissed without notice, or in a situation like ours where we gave her plenty of notice and are leaving HK.

I believe they get severance after 2 years. The calculation is the same as Long service pay.

Rani is right. Your DH is entitled to notice or wages in lieu of notice plus a severance payment (2/3 of a month's wages multiplied by no. of years employed) by reason of redundancy plus payment for any untaken annual leave.
