When can find out the sex of BB ?

I am 22 week , people keep asking what's sex of our BB ..but our Dr. haven't give us a def. answer , I will have the scan at public hospital this week and another scan at our own Dr. next week . Does anyone know if the public hospital tell u the sex of the BB or not ?
 
hi i found out at wk 15 just yesterday actually so I'm guessing from wk 15 onwards.. but my doctor did say it really depends if the little one is co-operative or not..

If the baby is being uncooperative (!) ie- lying in a funny position that the doctor cannot see, then I understand that the only 100% certain way to tell the sex is by having an amnio test or similar. Not sure if they will do that now that you are 22 weeks and also, unsure whether a doctor will perform an amnio just because you want to know the sex (normally used to tell Downs syndrome and other chromosomal abnormalities).

If you can hold off, I am sure that your doctor will be able to tell you the sex once the baby is bigger. We went to Dr Lam for our 12 week scan and he told us with 90% certainty (so he said) what the sex was.

PS I have been told by several OBS that Dr Lam (from HK Diagnostic Specialists) has some of the best scanning equipment in HK so you could consider having your next scan with him instead of your own private Dr
 
We were about 22 weeks when we had a 3D scan (for other medical reasons) with Dr Lam and he was able to definitively tells us we were having a daughter. He kindly pointed out all her girly bits just so we were sure - my husband didn't know where to look - it was hilarious. Anyway, the reason we couldn't be sure in previous scans was that she was moving about too much, and it is always a little more tricky to be sure it's a girl and not just a boy with a smaller penis.
I'd definitely suggest being patient and asking the technicians in the next scan. You've still got a while before he or she comes out to buy all your pink or blue stuff if that's your inclination.
 
Cesh - that is so funny! Dr Lam did the same for our first baby - blew it up on the big screen and proudly declared "there's the penis"!!
 
Dr Lam also told us at 13 weeks. I didn't know you could find out that early and thought he must only be 80% sure or something - so I asked him how sure he was. His response? "I'm very tempted to say 100% sure!!" And he was correct too. MOST places say you can find out from about week 16 or so though. And I found out also at my 20 week scan at Tsan Yuk - I didn't tell them that I already knew, because I wanted to make sure.
 
I just had a scan at the public hospital today, the Dr. ask if we want to know and she say she will try her best and she did , but she said our BB was keep moving and turn his/her back on us ..so we still dont know ..I hope people stop asking us what's the sex of our BB
