What to have for lunch at work - takeaway options in Central

Ok, silly question. But I'm struggling a bit to find pregnancy-compatible choices when I go out to get my lunch each day. Does anyone have any good tips about where to go (I work in Central)/ what eg sandwich etc options are good from places like Pret, Olivers, Mix etc? The roast beef sandwiches from Pret look a bit too rare, don't think I should eat ham, can't have soft cheeses, am now concerned about eggs (in case they're the ones from China that are potentially carcnegenic)... Let me know if you have any good solutions!

Thank you!

hello, here's where i went:-

mix - i tried all of their wraps
kosmo - they have pastas, brown rice dishes etc which they always heat up properly
olivers sandwiches (cheung kong centre basement) - baked potatoes
olivers deli (princes bldg) - hot paninis

the only thing that i could keep down during the atrocious morning sickness phase was ham and cucumber sandwiches (home made though). sometimes chinese soup noodles was a choice too.

also, take a look at the new supermarket on the 3/F in the Landmark. the whole focus is on healthy wholesome foods, so i'm sure you'll find some choices on their 4/f food court.

hope that helps

have eaten the mexican bean wrap from kosmo many times without getting sick. And if anyone's going to get food poisoning, it will be me ;-). Have also eaten several of pret's sandwiches (sorry, can't remember the types, although I avoided ham as I find it a personal danger zone for food poisoning).

Also at Kosmo and Pac Coffee I ask them to make things "extra hot" which seems to be easily understood.

Exactly where are you in Central? Could give you better pointers that are close to you.

Actually, try not to eat at Mix too much. I am quite familiar with their prep kitchens and the wraps are not hygenically prepared. Also the smoothies are often made with fruit that are sometimes half fermented from sitting outside the chillers. In addition to this, I know of 2 friends who have had food poisoning from the IFC1 outlet.

Beijing dumplings from Wang Fu, 65 Wellington St.
Piping hot and to die for!

I'm sure HK baguette sandwiches are fine even though they are not heated up?

Thanks Cha-Cha, Rani, Pinemarten and Greatimp for your suggestions, I really appreciate it.

I'm next to Landmark so am looking forward to checking out the new supermarket/food court there. And Wildfire - I've never tried Wildfire before. Will also try Kosmo's Mexican bean wrap and brown rice dishes. Didn't know Olivers in the Princes Bldg had paninis - its always so busy there at lunchtime and last time I went the only thing I could see were their very very rare roast beef and ham sandwiches. Pinemarten, I tend to agree about ham even when not pregnant unless I know where it comes from. I've been having their new Christmas turkey sandwich over the last couple of days which is really yummy and hopefully OK. Will try Pac Coffee too, get something hot there. Very interesting what you say about Mix Greatimp; good to know that sort of thing. Will steer clear for a bit I think... And I ADORE Wang Fu dumplings, haven't had them for a while, aren't they fantastic ?!
Thanks again for your suggestions.
ps: Cha-cha I also feel like cucumber a lot at the moment. Even brought some in to work today. Think its because its so fresh and crisp and refreshing. That and things like fresh cut tomatoes and fruit fruit fruit are the sorts of things I like most in this strange nausea imbued phase...
