What if we have to leave?

I want to hire a helper but what happens if we, in these times of financial crisis) have to go home early. Which obligations do we have to the helper? Can we just fire her if we have to go home?

Please help!!!
 
one month's notice is required. if you do not give that, then you must pay one month's wages in lieu of notice.

you must also pay for a one way ticket back to their "home". however, most helpers would prefer this in cash so that they can look for another job before having to go back.
 
When we left we had about 6 weeks notice ourselves so we helped our helper - who still had a year on her contract with us - find another family. We just had to write a letter saying we had to terminate because we were leaving which she used when processing her new visa application with the new family.

It wasn't difficult for either of us.
