We're in the UK and hopefully be having our first baby in HK. Can anyone tell me the formalities regarding public Hospitals.

How do we register with Hospitals (Tai Po or Shatin) Does my other half have to go into the hospital in person? Or can a family member go in with her HK ID card and register?

We wont be coming back till Mid sept...... and expecting date is mid December.

Also which Hospital is better Tai Po or Shatin? Any stories?

Any other info would be grateful.
 
You need to get a referral letter from your gp to start. the mum will need to go to the hospital in order to answer questions about the pregnancy and her health.
