hi, just went to threesixty but couldn't find any SAGE TEA there...

does anyone know where to buy some (quite urgently)...

if not i'm going to have to walk around with cabbage leaves on my breasts for the next few days... don't really have to resort to this...

or anyone else have suggestions on stopping engorgement?

sorry, i don't know about sage tea. but i just weaned my 8 month-old. i was so engorged on the third day that i decided to feed her, and that was the last feed we ever had. no more engorgement, no more milk supply.

i've been pumping a bit when i can't stand the engorgement... this is just my second day! my son's in taiwan so i can't exactly feed him! :(

When I weaned I just hand expressed a little out to be comfortable whenever I was engorged. Do u think that would help!

pm if you want dostinex?

I just bought a box of 8 on saturday for HKD750 and have used only 3.... my breast specialist in Singapore prescribed 1/2 tablet every 12 hours for 2 days but the pharmacies here only sell in a box of 8.....

my engorgement was still bad on the 3rd day so I had another tablet. I am now in day 4 of cold turkey and using cold gel pack....

i'm really bad at hand expressing, i've been using my manual pump..

hi!

i'm doing alright now, it's a bit lumpy but on line they say it's normal that way?

maggie @ LLL mentioned that even hand expressing a few drops can help, which really relieved my stress of being bad at hand expressing.

i've got a bit over a week of cold turkey now and doing alright. it's only sad when my son wants to nurse though but i can't let him as i have a trip at the end of the month and i don't want him to get addicted again and then have to go cold turkey again!

yeah i think it takes time for the body to reabsorb the milk although I was told not to express, or it will stimulate the production again.....

If you are engorged hand expressing a little bit out really does relieve the pressure and expressing a little bit for comfort shouldn't stimulate too much production I would think.

maggie at the LLL also said it's a myth not to express at all as it makes it risky for mastitis and other infections, expressing to relieve discomfort by a little is ok

Peppermint tea

A friend of mine recommended drinking peppermint tea instead of sage tea - I read up on it and apparently if you drink 3-6 cups a day it can help to reduce your milk supply. I am trying to drop a feed at the moment and so have been very uncomfortable - after one day of the peppermint tea I felt lots more comfortable - hope this helps :)

just wondering, based on the mommies on geobaby's experience... is it normal to have smaller breasts after you weaned?
