Vitamins or not?

Hey there mums

My friends son is 3.5yrs old and has no appetite. He is very thin and refuses eating everythn except fish.
I suggested Cyprovita vitamin syrup with lysine which works fine for my 2yr old son.But she says its not good to "create" an appetite in kids by givn syrups.

Kids are growing and they need all the protiens and carbohydrates etc etc at this age.By givn vitamin syrup their appetite is being triggered. Is it not?

I personally dont see anythn wrong in Vitamin syrup.

I wud like to know what other mums think abt this.
Any comment is greatly appreciated.

And thanx for ur time!

i personally don't see anything wrong in giving toddlers vitamins as an supplement to their daily diet.

in ur friend's case, meat & veg is also impt for a growing toddler's diet other than fish alone. kids will not get 'addicted' to vitamins or appetite booster which i think that's what ur friend might be worrying about.

i myself have been giving my son (25mths old) cod liver oil at 12mths & multivitamins at 18mths onwards.

You r right Berries.I confirmed the same with the paed too and he says as long as its the right dosage its fine.

Have u seen the doctor regarding her running poo?

Perhaps the doc can suggest some alternatives regarding her food.
