Vaccinations at public hospitals

Hi all,
I would like to know how to get our baby vaccinated via the public hospital system. We had our first shots at our private pediatrician but recently found out that my insurance will not cover immunizations. As they are very expensive with a private doctor, could someone tell me how I do it at the public clinics? I hear that they are free. I live close to Tsan Yuk if that is where they are done.

Thanks!

Hi niutalent,

I think you should phone to our Medical & health Department in Hong Kong. It is really free of charrge if they allow your child to take vaccinations in the public clinic.

Hi,

I do my baby's immunizations privately but i also go to a Maternal and Child Health Centre right next to Tsan Yuk. It's the Sai Ying Pun MCHC - it's also called the jockey Club Clinic. The number i have from my baby's book is 2859 8281.

When my daughter was born, i called them and made an appointment. They ask for your's and your spouse's id card copy, copy of baby's birth certificate and then they schedule you for wahtever you want - comprehensive observation scheme, immunizations, hearing test, doctor consultation. The nurses are great source of advice!

All the best!
