Used baby clothes sale?

Does anyone know if HK ever hosts the kind of used-clothes sales for babies and toddlers that are held in North America? Should I be asking at the Y? It doesn't seem like something the American Club or Cricket Club would put on ... churches maybe?

I'm almost tempted to organize something. We can't possibly imagine getting everything new and then having babe outgrow it in just months (or weeks)!

Ideas?

If u search older threads u might find some info. There was another on this website mlwf( I am not sure of the name) but she had found a place where she used to get some used clothes or really cheap clothes for 10 bucks

you could check out the charity shop at the Duchess of Kent Childrens Hospital at Sandy Bay (Pokfulam). I know the Australian Association volunteer there on thursdays and aparently there are great bargains. I think most stuff is new but cheap. You might need to visist a few times to find what you're after. Money goes to the hospital charity.
It's open from 10-4

The Salvation Army also have "Family Stores" with Second hand clothes in different places in HK. They also have some new stuff they sell cheap which is not too bad.

Many churches donate gently used clothing to charities.
You might find that within your circle of friends that you get into the habit of passing around and sharing clothes.

That's great advice. I was also thinking of just the social aspect ... I have heard of women who get together and trade clothes for themselves, maybe instead of a sale it could just be a trade, esp if people came whose kids were different ages?
I will totally look into the sally-anne and pokfulam hospital. I do feel bad, though, taking charity items when it's not like we are impoverished. We just prefer to not spend a billion dollars and contribute to overconsumption!!
I will give it some thought. Right now everything's too busy anyway :)

If you just go to markets instead, and you`re not really picky about what your baby wears, it can be incredibly cheap to buy clothes. Also geoexpat and asiaxpat always have people selling their baby clothes.
