Just found out I'm 5 weeks pregnant! bit out of the (Clear)blue and just getting over the shock as I'm 42 and had given up hope after years of trying... Anyway, I'm looking into where to have the first Dr check-up. As we don't have private health cover anymore, no income and will probably be leaving HK early next year I was looking at a local hospital as I'm loath to hand over nearly $2K for a consult and ultrasound! TIA
Edit: we are based in Kennedy town.
 
Another question, are you given an ultrasound on your first appointment? (I had a silent miscarriage a few years back, I already have a 7 year old)

Call Tsan Yuk and Register yourself and let them know your age and history.

I have a feeling they may refer you to QM because of your age. They don't normally do a u/s on yr first visit. They need to schedule it.
 
they may consider you high risk, and if so, you will be in excellent hands. i was seen by them exclusively for the 2nd babe. there were only 4-5 drs on the team, so you kind of got to know them. i even had the head of the dept on my team and he went through a list of about 35 questions i had one day... took his time and really answered them all until i was satisfied!
