Travelling with breast milk

I've been giving my daughter (6 months) breastmilk and am taking her to UK for about 1 month. I would like to take some extra breast milk with us when we broad the plane (just in case that I need it). Given that the flight is about 13 hours and there is no fridge on the plane, I'm wondering how I could keep the milk without it turning bad. Any tips/hints are appreciated.

i used to pump at work, and used a cooler to store bottles of milk. for the plane, could bring extra supplies of ice packs, and try to get the hostess to freeze the back ups for you, and then switch out the packs when they start to turn warm. it should only take a round or two of replacement for a 13 hour flight. also, try to keep the cooler closed as much as possible. but you can last a long time if you can get icepacks frozen and replaced by the hostess.

Check this out: www.fridge-to-go.com.hk (they do delivery)---------Model: FTG-1193(Dual)--this is the one that I use, it can fit 4 cans of coke. If you are using the Avent, It can fit 4 small Avent bottles in.

This frigde is really good stuff, no need for ice pack. All you have to do is put it in the freezer for 8hrs. A lot of breastfeeding mom use this" frigde to go" in HK.

Sounds Great! Just wondering if it can keep frozen breastmilk freezed. I would like to transport some of my frozen breastmilk in my fridge some times, and a great fear that the milk would thaw always gives me a headache. Just wondering how cold this bag can keep the stuff at.

travelling is easy if you breastfeed

What are you on about?
Your breasts keep the milk at the right temperature. Your breasts will be able to 'look after' the milk. Why do you need an air hostess to look after it? The whole idea of breastfeeding is that it's easy and convenient.
You're making it unnecessarily difficult for yourself!
 
I agree with natternatter. I dont' understand why you have to take extra breast milk on the plane. If you are afraid that the breast milk in your freezer will go bad, then stop pumping before the trip and use those milk up before you travel.
