Travelling to Hong Kong

Travelling mum

New member
Hi - I am travelling to Hong Kong in September with my one year old, we are staying in Tsim Sha Tsui. Can anyone advise me where the nearest place would be to buy formula/food/nappies etc. I'd really like to give him organic meals if they are available and he's still drinking SMA. As far as possible I'd like to try and keep his diet as close to his norm as possible to minimise any upset.
All suggestions gratefully recieved!
thanks

just so you know, one year is the PERFECT time to introduce new foods.

by one year, our kids were eating the same as we ate. curry, pizza, dim sum, everything! at this age, it is great to introduce the new foods as they are still making up their minds as to whether they like it or not. (it's not until they get older that they get too picky).

as per your questions:

ocean terminal in TST has a bunch of baby shops. you can get a few baby foods there (a small selection at toys'r'us) but i don't know if it'll be organic.

bumps2babes in central on peddar street above shanghai tang will have more in the organic selection of baby foods.

sorry, i don't know what SMA is, so i can't help you with that, although i'm guessing it's some kind of formula.

they sell SMA formula at Bumps to Babes in Central - they have a selection of organic baby foods there too. As does 360 grocery (inside Landmark in Central which is across the street from bumps to babes)

You can also find organic baby food at City Super - a grocery chain, inside ocean terminal in TST. I think they are mostly purees. I haven't seen any toddler meals but I think at 1yrs, they are still ok to eat purees. When I traveled with my son, i brought 1 jar of food I knew he would eat for sure for every day we were away, just as a precautionary measure but that's only possible for short trips. You can also check out Great Food Hall inside Pacific Place Mall in Admiralty - one MTR stop from TST.

Nappies - you can find pampers or huggies in the supermarkets Wellcome & Park n Shop as well at bumps to babes and 360. You can check store locations here:

Thanks so much for that advice, it will be so much easier to buy stuff when we get to HK rather than carry it half way around the world with us. I feel more relaxed about the trip already!
