Traveling to NYC, looking for a babysitter, does anyone have any referrals?

Hi there,
I'm traveling to NYC in September and was wondering if anyone has used a reliable babysitter or babysitting service in NYC before? I'll be there for 2 weeks staying with a friend and would like to be able to go out for dinner after my kids have gone to bed...

This will be my first solo trip with my boys (3.5yrs and 2yrs)
...I'm kind of freaking out : )

I would see if your friend knows any highschool students who can babysit for you. I am from NYC and it's different there - people don't really go through agencies. It's all word of mouth. Have your friend, ask his/her friends who have kids if you can maybe borrow their nanny for a night or if teenagers in her/his blding is willing to babysit.

I have been asking around, just thought I'd see if anyone here would have a referral : )
 
Hi - I have a friend in NYC who does babysitting gigs from time to time (she is an aspiring writer/actor, so has time for "freelance" jobs). She has babysat for a family (with 1 little girl) for ~5 years and has also done some babysitting in the Hamptons in the summer time.
