I 've been to Phuket and Cebu with my baby. Excellent resort.
Anyone been to Sentosa Island or Kota Kinabalu? I want to relax at the resort with my baby and mean while do some shopping.

We went to Kota Kinabalu a couple weeks ago with my 9 months old daughter, the resort is great, lots of things to do and staff are very friendly esp to babies. Don't know about shopping though as we didn't leave the resort at all - didn't need to really!

Do check the weather before you go, I think it's now in the middle of wet season, and it's no fun at all when it's pouring with rain all day long!

Good luck.

May I ask which resort in Phuket please? Thank-you.

By the way, has anyone tried Club Med with under 2-year-olds? Was it okay?

Thanks so much.

Most people I know with kids who go to Phuket head for the Laguna Resort - there are about 6 hotels there the Laguna Beach, Allamanda, Dusit, Banyan Tree etc. You can use the facilities in all the hotels which is great as you can go and pamper yourself at the Banyan Tree.

I've stayed at the Laguna Beach a couple of times and really like it, I have friends who stayed at the Allamanda who liked that and friends who stayed at the Dusit and liked that so I personally don't think you can go wrong by staying at the Laguna.

Never done Club Med so can't comment on that I'm afraid.

Hi Rani,

The resort we stayed in KK was call The Magellan Sutera Resort, it's a little dated. The resort is combined with 3 parts, there is a cinema, 10-pin bowling, 3-4 outdoor swimming pools for different level swimmers, bars and a very good Italian / Mediterranean rest. And it's only 10 mins away from the airport.

We went down to The Shangri-la to have a peek and the kiddy pool there looks pretty good too. May try it next time!

Cyndi

Thanks Cyndi. Will definitely check it out.

Svasbt, also have a look at the new Marriott in Phuket.

We had stayed at JW Marriott in Phuket for in last November to celebrate Karina's first birthday. It is an excellent resort, each room have a "Sala" area with the message mats, it provides extra space for the toddler to play in the room. The hotel had arranged a lot of exciting activities for the kids, but Karina was too young for most of them. Therefore, we spent most of the time in the pool which were great fun especially with the slide.

I also stayed in Laguna beach before and had stayed in Allamanda, Sheraton and Banyan. But if I go there again, I will choose Sheraton if I travel with Karina and Banyan if just myself and my husband.

Don't forget to try the spa at Marriott Phuket, it is as good as the one in Banyan.

Thank-you for your suggestions. I guess the Marriott is where we are trying next. :agree:

Sorry for the late........reply, something wrong with my computer. Anyway, last time I stay in Banyan tree in Phuket and Shangri-la in Cebu. Both re excellent. I pick Cebu the first place to travel with my baby, Cause it was really a short flight(2 ~ 2 1/2 from Hk). My baby was playing with the flight attendant most of the time. Anyway, I will be flying again next week.

JW Marriott Phuket Spa and Resort

Hi!

We just got back last night from 5 days at the J.W. Marriott Phuket. It was absolutely awesome. The resort has just been awarded "The Best Resort in the World". I think that says enough...

The Children's Pavillion is a god-send. They have so many (free) organized activities for children aged 4 and up. If yours are younger than that, you would have to be there with them, or the hotel can provide a baby-sitting service at about HK$40 an hour.

Like karinamm said, the room has a nook that provides an extra play/sleep area for the little ones. Staff is helpful. Food is great. Swimming pool terrific. We never left the resort during our 5-day stay. Phuket is VERY quiet now, and the room rates are low. We're so looking forward to going back.

Sara.
