Travel with 5 weeks old baby

Hi, I plan to travel back to Hong Kong with my 5 weeks old baby in February. The baby will have his new British passport. I already have my Hong Kong ID card. I wonder if I have to queue up to get his passport stamp or can I just go through with my id card. I don't want to hang around in the airport for too long with my young baby. Is there anyway I can go though the queue quickly? I will be going to HK a week before Chinese new year to avoid a long queue during he chinese new year.

Yes, go to the HK ID card holders queue (permanent or non-permanent resident, whichever applies to you, whichever applies to you). You can't use the e-channel when you're travelling with a child as immigration needs to check the passport (but they don't actually stamp it any more).
