Totally non-spill cup

Hi there!
Would anybody know of any totally non-spill (sippy) cup please? My boy is okay drinking from a cup in his high chair (with supervision), but in the stroller, when I'm behind him and not able to reach him fast enough, he seems to turn the cup upside down one too many times.

I haven't been able to find a totally non-spill cup, but have found Nuk's sippy cup to be pretty good. It's a two handle cup. The only down side is that once you've got the lid on, it's difficult to get it off (so if you aren't careful, you'll spill any liquid remaining in the cup. Ugh. It's happened to me several times). But for the most part, it's doesn't leak when you're child drops it, chucks it, or sits on the sofa with the lid facing down which is great.

I bought mine at Bumps2Babes and Toysrus.
 
I find the cup "Anyway Up" (I think that is what it is called) to be pretty good and preety leak proof. On the packaging it says "designs by a mother" so I guess she knew the problem of a leaking drinking cup especially when we go out. The only down side is that the spout does not have a cover. B to Babes sells them.
 
Non-spill cup

You may want to try the Avent Magic Cup. My daughter started using it when she was around 4 months. It is practically non-spill even if they drop it a million times and the water or whatever drink you put in does not fill into the cap. Only downfall is the cap is very tight and sometimes, if you have slippery hands can be difficult to get of. You can start of with the soft spout (white) and then progress onto the hard spout (green) for 6 months +. (haven't tried it yet)
I've seen them in large Watsons, Bumps to Babes, Wing on, Mothercare to name a few. Hope that helps.
 
My wife and I recently found a new type of cup on the market with a flip open top. The latest design I picked up is the "Playtex
Insulator Sport Straw Cup" (9 oz). This is a fantastic, spill proof cup that promotes dexterity, too. As soon as your child is old enough to figure out how to flip open a top, I highly recommend this cup.

I have attached a sample of the cup and the first one we had was a half moon flip open. Also works extremely well. Our son started using this when he was about 18 months old.

cleaning these cups ?

Anybody have trouble cleaning the lids of these cups ? I sure seem to. The ones with straws attached to the lids seem to be the worst.

How do you get them clean after juices or milk ? I threw away one after the milk stayed in the cup too long and curdled...yuck !!
 
The trick I have found is a cotton swab (i.e. Q tip) and tooth brush. The models I suggested actually come apart fairly well, allowing a cotton swab to clean the tubing and a tooth brush to clean the mechanical pieces. On a few other models I have had to shorten the tubing by 1 - 2 cms to the swab can clean the entire tube when accessing from either end. (I hope that makes senes!)

We keep a tooth brush and bunch of swabs in the kitchen specifically for this purpose. If something gets really dirty (like curdled milk) soak in hot soapy water overnight, and the next morning it should come clean.

You can also buy replacement tube and mechanisms for many of these cups, too.
 
Thanks for all the suggestions. I got the Avent Magic cup for my boy the other day, and so far am very pleased with how it doesn't spill. As an added bonus, it fits in his stroller's cup holder perfectly. I introduced it to him 2 days ago, and on the first day, he almost didn't drink any out of it. He only drank from it when he was really, really thirsty and realized that I wasn't gonna give him his bottle. Yesterday he was much better, and today is the very first day that he doesn't have to drink out of a bottle at all. I'm very pleased. Thanks again to all of you who wrote in.

Avent Magic Cup

Just as I said that I was pleased with the Avent Magic Cup, I found a flaw. My son had pasta with tomato saue last night, and yes, you've guessed it... the tomato stains the spout! I guess I just wasn't careful as I know that tomato and oil-based foods normally stain my plastic tupperware. Now, does anybody know how to rectify the stain please? Thanks so much.
 
Yes, that's my problem too, and not just with this cup. All other brands seem to be the same. Would love to know how to get rid of the stain too. Thanx.
 
I have not seen the cup I posted in HK either. I picked up ours in Canada. I'll be in the US this week. If I see any I'll post a note and let you know how much in case you want me to pick one up for you. (In Canada it was around CDN $ 10.)

RE: stains - on most plastics you can try bleach or Cif (formerly called Jif) to scrub off the stains. Afterwards, you need to re-wash with regular dish washing soap to make sure all the bleach or Cif residue disappears.

Cif is also great for cleaning stains off of plastic trays on high chairs.

Cif seems like too concentrated a detergent to wash something you baby eats out of (is it safe?)

How about using lemon juice to get rid of the stain?
 
Tommee Tippee has a good non-spill cup. My mother-in-law got it for my daughter and it's great as she loves to wave her cup about. Also the spout is removable for easy cleaning and you can get replacements for the spout as well. I think this is also available at BtB.
